Default steam tube adapters

I have these steam tube adapters. I was going to drill and tap the heads for 1/8th" npt lines, and I found these, bought them a few years ago and can't remember where, the orfice is a little over !/8th" will these flow enough coolant to cool my turbos? I have my heads installed and I'm a little nervous about drilling and tapping them while there on the truck. thanks

Maybe you got them from us? Not sure about the turbo question though. Drilling and tapping the heads would be better off the engine.

Why doesn't any one just use the factory steam tubes that were on the earlier f body ls1 cars?

Because everyone wants to go through all the trouble of tapping their heads, or tapping the small aluminum blocks instead of trimming a little off the underside of their manifold

That's what I thought. I trimmed under my intake and bent the tube alittle and its good to go.

The early style vent tubes will not fit under certain intakes due to the intake floor being lowered. Anyhow, I can't remember all the LS1 style vent tubes I modified to delete the rear connections when the LS6 intakes came out

Off topic, But i was absolutley thrilled to find out when i picked up my 4.8litre motor that it had the full steam tubes, front to back, i was happy as could be

Now just need an intake that will fit over them...

Anyway i believe gattagO is correct.

http://www.kurturbanperformance.com/ This guy made mine, they can accept a 1/8th npt fitting. I just don't think the pin hole would flow enough coolant for the turbos. thanks

The steam vents wont flow enough to cool your turbos.

I used an LS3 front crossover on the rear and then ties it into the front one. $30 and some change from GM.
