I have been told by multiple reputable tuners that they have cars with FI making 750rwhp running the stock maf and its not a restriction. They also said that the maf is used until about 450rwhp then its more of a SD tune after that because the maf runs out of metering ability. I was told they do this because a maf car is easier to tune for street and dd use than SD would be but IDK, Im not a tuner.

I use SD on my car and it drives just as smooth as all my friends with stock ls1s. Just have a reputable tuner do your tune and you will not know that it isnt even there.

After loosing two pistons at just 12psi of boost using a MAF I say SD. I'm sure there are ways of doing it with the MAF but SD isn't that hard to figure out. Just my $0.02

Problem with a maxed MAF is its basically Alpha-N. If you change the boost level, BOOM.
