Default Need some help Procharger

I was checking my fan connection because it's not turning on causing my car to overheat. Noticed I need to replace my belt. Was looking and really didn't see a way to change the belt without taking out the procharger. I am a newbie and I have a f1a

Yes, you unbolt the blower to replace the belt on a 98-02 F Body. Shoot me an e-mail to brutespeed@gmail.com and I'll send you a copy of the ProCharger installation instructions. Bob

Ok I will. One more question, how much psi should I see if I have on a 5.25 pulley. Currently seeing about 6. What if I replace it with a 4.75 pulley.

How much boost the blower can produce depends on many variables.
* Cubic inch. The larger the engine the less boost it will make with a supercharger.
* Headers and exhaust. A better flowing system will produce less boost, requires a smaller pulley to regain the loss in boost. Ultimately though, more power will be gained.
* Camshaft and heads. A camshaft with some overlap will leak out some boost through the valves. Better flowing heads react a lot like a better flowing exhaust system.
* Altitude. Elevation plays a big part in how much boost is produced. Those people living in the higher elevations have to spin the blower harder to see boost.
* Condition of engine. An engine with real good sealing rings will ultimately produce more boost than one with worn rings.
* Rpm. An engine that is spun up higher in the rpm range will normally produce more boost.

If you have a stock bottom end (not forged) I'd leave the 5.25 pulley on for now and get the blower belt tight (as tight as a guitar string) and make sure the air filter is clean. A dirty filter restricts boost. Now see how much boost you're making before you go and swap pulleys. If you're still at 6 psi then I'd drop down to a 5.00 pulley. Bob

Kool my engine is stock, it's got stainless steel headers 1 7/8 with three inch exhaust no cats. Just bought some 317 heads that I am going to be porting and plan on youre blower cam with 100 percent meth. My car dynoed at 509 at the wheels.

Bob how long does the belt need to be, you told me once but I forgot. If you have a part number it would greatly be appreciated.

For your current 5.25 pulley the belt needs to be 42.70" long. Bob

You're going to make some good power with that combination. Make sure you use 100% methanol, as the water in a 50/50 mix tends to put the flame out under boost. Bob
