I am running a RXT McLeod, cant say enough good things about it.
Street drive the hell out of it, easy engagement.

Only downside is it is hard to slip when launching at track....

I would not run a crap RAM or Centerforce with a high HP setup. McCleod twin disks seem to do real well with those setups. RXT is a nice choice as mentioned above. Plus McCleod I believe can rebuild the clutch for you when it needs it instead of buying a whole new one.

Another vote for Mcleod. I've got a single disc, 500 series, with a 2900lb pressure plate and it drives great and holds no problem.

If you have the irs suspension and plan on keeping it out of a bucket, get a carbon/carbon/carbon....been there, done that with irs. Triple carbon will slip enough to lesson the impact on the rear. We kept breaking parts with other clutches that locked up hard at the hit.

I would run McLeod Twin. Like stated it can be rebuilt. When getting rebuilt it can also be upgraded. When I sent mine in after 60k miles of spirited driving on a 383 it looked like it had 60% life left. There are pics somewhere on my local forum. Had it rebuilt and upgraded and was told it could hold like 2k hp now.

I'm bias because I have had a really positive experience with this company. Not only did they do well with the vette clutch, they built a 1-off for a 1996 Vector when I couldn't find ANYTHING to hold. And they did it in 2 weeks.

Mcleod RXT twin disk here, not one single thing i can say bad about it. Awesome holding power with 5k+ clutch dumps and street drives like a stocker.

I've been beating the hell out of my RAM dual for 2 years making 750 to the flywheel. Smooth like butter engagement and grabs like hell. About 25 1/4 mile track passes plus doing 2nd gear clutch dumps just for fun (which isn't recommended). Have a buddy with same RAM dual in a 2000 Stang and maxed out D1 with no issues.

Heard horror stories about McLeod support from multiple sources.

As others have mentioned, I wouldn't run RAM or Centerforce clutches. How much power do you plan on making?

As far as twin disc clutches go, McLeod's RXT is rated to 1000HP and is tough to beat for the money. We sell it with the SFI Certified flywheel here: http://www.tickperformance.com/produ...A-1000%29.html

We have the Force 10.5. I was told the RTrack 900 handles more power but has an aggressive engagement and is harder to drive. I would assume that goes for all the 1000+ hp clutches because of the friction material used.

It's funny how distributors sometimes bad mouth a brand they don't sell and then pushes something they do sell. Opinions are like ********, everyone's got one and most of them stink.

Have had the opposite experience. Spoke to Red on multiple calls. Never had a problem getting someone on the phone.

If you're concerned about a company's service, you can always give them a call and see how competant their people are. If you can't get anyone on the phone and don't get a call back that also answers your question. I just did this with an injector purchase from FIC. By the end of my call a set was on the way which was not my initial intention.
