We are hoping to make it down. It is going to come down to finances and time. I know it is 4 months away, but customers cars come first. I'll try to post up some pics, but we are doing a 2003 Wrx with a 5.3 twin 70mm turbo and a 4L60E. Looking forward to this race.

Looks like a great event. I think the only thing keeping it from being massively popular will be the diaper rule.

Well ****... Thanks Jax I might see if I can contact him by other means. I seen on the website where it said it was pushed back a couple months wasn't sure if that was a couple months from next weekend or next weekend was the 2 month date. A lot of us were really looking forward to this

A friend of mine knows the guy who is putting the race together. I asked him to get info on when it is. But last I heard the race is still on, but pushed forward because lots of people didnt have cars ready.

We are putting together a junkyard turbo build in a 98 camaro. Engine diaper FTW

Just talked to Sam and the race is STILL ON!!!!!

http://www.stockshortblockshootout.com/

Right now, several people are finishing up builds and getting ready so the race will be pushed out a couple months. Some looking at June-July timeframe right now.

This will be an awesome race, just need to get some cars to come out.

Also need to discuss 1/4 or 1/8 mile???

So lets start a list of who is gonna come race. Several stock shortblock guys are real fast and should be easy money!! We are running a new car that has 0 passes on it so just hope it gets down the track. On ebay ordering parts now

No problem man.

Just liked the idea of this race, so figured I would call Sam and ask him whats up. He was a really nice guy, and is into pushing the limits of stock componets.

Basically, the event is going to happen. But we need to get some car counts up first to make it fun for everyone. 10 cars is a lot better than 5.

I'd love to see 40-60 cars show up. Its not a bad payout with the bonuses. Maybe some sponsors will come in and kick a little extra or something.

Finally pulled the roller I have had in the trailer for a year out tonight, and ordered by junkyard motor off ebay.

I should have it ready first of july.

I would think about towing my car out from California but I have rod bolts and bearings in my motor. I don't want to tow my car 2000+ miles ($1200+ in fuel to tow that distance and back) to get turned away over a set of $40.00 bearings. I might fly out to watch though depending on what wknd it ends up on.. They need to pick the dates soon and stick to it if there are guys trying to make plans to get out there from long a distance away. It takes time to get all that planned out.

I don't see why rod bolts and bearings don't make it stock shortblock.

I think the rules even say rod bolts are allowed. I'm sure new bearings would be ok.
