Turbo build So I am planning on building a budget turbo on my for-now stock LS1, running low boost until I get forged internals and 317 heads.
I would like to build a twin turbo, and I was thinking of using twin Holset hx35 turbos. Do you think the stock displacement is enough, or will their be significant turbo lag?
Also, I have read that buying the hx35w and bypassing the wastegate is a possible option, as it has a 12cm housing, vs 16 for the non-wastegate.
Is this feasible?

It's in a 04 GTO. Stock engine internals. I am still deciding between the 243 ported heads I have, or 317 heads.
My question is if it will work well for a street car, as in not having terrible turbo lag, or if they're too small and will run out of steam quickly.

Really can't say without knowing which turbo kit it is and more about those turbos. Your housings, piping, and turbo placement are going to determine if it will lag or run out of steam.

That's the turbo I've been looking at.
And I haven't built a turbo system before, this is my first time. But I'm going to only tack everything up, then have a shop weld it up.
