What engine and who to build it?
I have a GT91 turbo sitting here and want to build an engine to go with it.
It's going in a 08 Silverado. I want to race it and drive it on the street also. It won't be daily driven but want it to be reliable. I want to be able to run at least 20 psi but really would like it to withstand more. What engine combo do I need and who should I have build it? I was thinking maybe a LSX block or ERL superdeck?? Or do I just do something else? Lots of good engine builders around but I really can't get any of them to respond to emails or answer the phone. Any opinions?

A GT91 is pretty big turbo and to keep it from being laggy you are going to need a decent size engine to go with it. No less than a 408 IMO
Some of the guys that you would want to build a motor of that nature would be HKE, Virginia Speed, Kurt Urban. LME and AES also come to mind.

HKE built the LS2. They did a great job but they are extremely busy! I like to kick tires before I buy it and I don't think anyone has time for that.
I vote AES. Fraser always replied back to my emails most of the time within a couple hours. I can't say enough good things about them. Very reasonably priced also. Send him an email. He even replied on sundays.
20 psi on a good built motor is alot of hp Im at 15 psi on a well built 427 with 850RWHP with supercharger drawing hp I had LME build mine but also like all these guys to HKE, Virginia Speed, Kurt Urban and AES

I could put it together myself but would need someone to do the machine work.
We have a couple of machine shops here but I don't know if I trust them to do it. They do mostly small block Chevrolet circle track engines. They aren't as familiar with a LSX

I had good luck with Livernois motorsports. You could just get a short block from them and go from there. I dealt with Mike, told him my goals and they sent me a whole package to assemble ( i was interested in building it just didn’t want to deal with the machine shops). he gave me great advice throughout the build, great customer service. just another option to throw out there, that thing is going to be a beast with that turbo!
here's a link to their LSX short block section

You wouldn't have to go with a 4" stroke for the GT91. A stock stroke 370 would be a good motor for this also.
As far as the builder. There are a ton of good sponsors on here that will point you in the right direction. All of the above mentioned seem to have good reputations and I wouldn't hesitate calling them....

It's a T6 so isn't it going to have a lot of turbo lag and slow spool with a 370?
If the 370 will work I'll just keep what I've got and run it. Everywhere I read people are saying I'll hate it.
This is with a similar turbo and a 347.

I would opt for the extra stroke on a heavy truck too, just be careful on piston design with the short sleeves.
If you are looking to make 1000+hp just make sure the machine shop has went down that road before.

So sleeve the LS2? I just heard from HKE. They are 6 months deep in engine builds. I can't decide what to do. I would like to keep the cost down.
