Well...I can't wait to try out the Derale fans. I got the part number 16926. I got two of them. Both are puller 11.7 inch fans with 2,200 cfms per fan. Building a shroud for them too.

Here's my feedback with the first 80-90* days out in the car.......I've got both hooked up fully but when i had a charging issue with my new alt (since switched to the proper sized pulley and all is good now) i pulled the fuse on 1 and have yet to have to put it back in. I'm just using 1 of these as a pusher fan and sat in bumper to bumper for a good 20 mins after hot rodding it on a cruise a tad and not once has the car overheated. IDK exactly what my tuner set the fans to go on/off at but seems to activate at 210 on/200 off and has yet to go beyond 212 under Any circumstance! If it ever does, i will reconnect the second fan again but for now i plan to hook it up to a toggle switch to cool the car for a minute or two after turning it off.

These fans kick ***!! Definitely worth the money!

btw....no shroud on mine.

Oh ok cool. I already have a manual override switch for the fans but that was installed back in 2009. I'm glad to hear about the results about these derales. I'm waiting to get 2x 40 amp relay harnesses. They should come tomorrow. The flex a lite 490 fans wasnt cutting it and in fact they started to fail on me. But these derales should do real nice especially in stop and go traffic in Ga. It gets really really hot here.

not much for options when mounting 2 of them on the griffins since there's only enough room if you mount them staggered. gonna need about 1/8-1/4" spacer for each tab as well due to overlapping the tanks where the weld sticks out further than the finned area they mount in front of. hope these help some....

Thumbs up

Well I finally got the Derale dual fan setup in my car. I got part number Der-16926...two of these. So that's a total of 4,400 cfm. These badboys definitely kick ***. They are loud when they kick in. My car runs cool as a cucumber. I tell anyone to get these fans.

I just got done installing a set of these and was wondering what alternator are you guys running. When my car is sitting at idle these fans pull all the juice lol Would a 160 amp alternator be sufficient or should I go bigger?

Yes 160 amp should be plenty but go bigger if you can. Im running an Ultima alternator which is like 140 amps. I'm sure you know these fans draw at least 22 amps per fan. So I just went on ahead upgraded to x2-40 amp relays. The initial draw hits harder than 22 amps so I didn't wanna risk it. Get it done 1st time and be done with it.

Thanks for the input! Yeah these fans are beasts. I went ahead and bypassed the factory wiring and PCM. I'm using a painless wiring fan harness that comes with the sensor that goes in the head. Fans kick on at 205 and off at 190. So far I haven't had any more issues with the car overheating and the harness comes with 40 amp relays.

I agree with the 40 amp relays. and i'm running a tuff stuff 160 amp alt and have yet to have an issue with it. You first may wanna make sure you have a 3:1 ratio for your crank/alt pulleys as well..... (example: 6" dia. crank pulley needs 2" dia. alt pulley) A $10 pulley from napa is money better spent than on a $250+ alt if you don't actually need it!

and congrats on getting it cooled properly!

Yea man no doubt on the fans. These things are a beast and and move air like no tomorrow. On average my temps are like 180. My car is loud and camming hard but I can hear the fans when they turn on!!
