That's really messed up! One of the reasons I never buy a built motor from anyone I haven't seen run the motor or watched/helped build. I have had a lot of people try to sell me their "built" motor. Atleast if you build it yourself you know exactly what you have.
That being said, grab a salvage 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0 throw a cam, rod bolts, head gaskets and head bolts/ studs and run it.
Don't give up. But I understand if you do. I believe the guy needs a good ole country *** kicking

Don't get rid of it you'll be sorry!
I'm trapping 147 on a $220 JY 5.3 (roughly 700whp) Literally have about $600 in the engine at this point... $700 in the trans and $950 in the converter. Just throw an NA LS in it for now and build up to the turbo junk later. If you were closer I'd seriously consider grabbing that roller for 3k.

Awesome! I was very sad to hear the possibility of you giving up on this after all your hard work. Very glad to hear you are sticking with it! Believe me, I know all about getting screwed over in this game, sucks, but it happens. There are some shady people in this industry...like every other industry I guess.

Ya i love the car and so does my wife, it just kinda took the wind out of my sails. But things happen and you just have to roll with in life.... Or go crazy lol its setting me back a bit for getting this car done but it will be worth it in the end.
Thanks

If you look back I had a bad incident when I first started this project over 3 years ago. I initially was putting all my stuff in a subaru WRX. If you search I had a thread about it and even had the dummy block bolted in at one point! Well a good screwing later and I had to sell the Suby or invest 1000s into getting the stuff to do that again and I now have my mustang. Crap happens, make lemonade out of lemons and all that good stuff. I am sure I will be plenty happy with the mustang and parts are MUCH easier to source!

I'm kinda curious myself man. I'm sure life and family have been keeping you busy, and the constant sub-z weather hasn't helped, but i'm really hoping you're still tinkering on this one.
I'm just getting ready to get my motor machined and re-assembled so I can start the mock-up. If you get bored some time, swing over
