E85 plug gap?
I think im going with a TR8 or 9 on heat range mostly due to my car being high compression 12.5.1 and boosted. Im attempting to push out around 800Whp also with the aid of 100% alky inj. What is a good starting gap?
If gap is incorrect, itll break up on the big end, or itll run/foul at low loads/part throttle. I usually start at 30, and see what the setup requires. Ive ended up with as little as 18 before, and sometimes as much as 40, with out issue.

Yea i imagine a 7 is a tad on the hot side for my 12:5.1 turbo motor. Id rather start cold and move up to a hotter plug. I just need a ballpark safe gap. Getting to my plugs is super easy so fine tuning on the dyno isnt a big deal.
From what all the experts running this fuel with high compression on boost say, Run a hotter plug like a 7 to fire off the fuel and have a complete burn. I run a BR7EF at 24lbs of boost with 10:1 compression and it runs great. I'm no expert but from what I've read from people that know this fuel they all run a hotter plug and it works better, makes more power, and faster ET's and MPH. And these guys are at 14:1 compression. Get on Yellowbullet and so some searches on E85. There is a lot of good info on there.

Thanks for helping to better understand this fuel. I have heard both ways.
Wicked IIRC you asked me this and I pointed you to the E85 facts and myths thread on yb. The experts with e85 say use a richer afr(gas scale) than you would with gasoline(10.1:1-10.9:1) and a 7 or 8 plug under big big boost. Fatten it up with the 9 range plugs you have now till it wants to foul/break up from fuel, and then step the heat range up. Do this and repeat till you feel comfortable.
That is what the experts over there are saying. I have no experience, but if e85 is anything like methanol, the more you can burn and fit into the combustion chamber and light off and use the more power you will make.
