I don't sweat the small stuff, or even the big stuff. I really went into this whole event with a 'take it as it comes' approach. **** happens, figure out how to avoid it happening again, and figure out what it takes to correct it and move on. I really had the thought that at any point I was comfortable with putting the cover on the car and putting it in the air for however long till I was ready to work on it more.

The hose clamps will be powder coated to match the pipes as well. It's not show car quality, but I'm not embarassed to pop the hood either.

fyi i powder coated my procharger radiator cover as well. glossy now. really makes it pop. if you were making 85% WOT pulls, or 4500-5000 you should have been making boost. also, it is summer, but grabbing a new hyper tech 160 and getting the air out is no biggie. I am so glad to see your up an running again.

I was seeing boost. I got the throttle cable issue resolved, but tried something new last night to pull the air out of the system. We'll see today if it was successful.

Becaue I've been busy troubleshooting little things and taking care of a 3 and 5 year old.

Sometimes you just want to enjoy it rather than document it.

Honestly, it sounds exactly the same as it did before since I'm running the same heads, cam, headers, and even compression ratio. So click on the link in my signature and you can hear an idle video.

Here's the latest video of a startup in the garage. I gotta figure out how to mount the camera for a quick cruise.

http://youtu.be/YGnqi1pznD0

FYI, the chirping is an a/c idler pulley that needs to be replaced.

Sounds great man! It's been a long 6 months until I have last heard that thing fire up. Now we need to go cruising again!

I'm glad you got over the obstacles that you were faced with. I know at a few hurdles you were really stressed, but it all worked out in the end. You did a nice rebuild/overhaul and the end product is something to be proud of.

Thanks, and yes, at a couple points in this process, I was ready to throw in the towel and just forget about the car for a while. I look back, and and had the opportunity to buy a freshly completed 383 that hadn't been started yet for what turned out to be the same cost as I spent on this project. But hindsight is 20/20 right?

I gained so much knowledge of my car that I hadn't had before, and to me, that knowledge, was money well spent.

I have to say, it was a great accomplishment for me to be able to do this 100% on my own. I had help with pulling the motor and dropping it back in, but other than that, I did it 100% by myself and I'm proud of that. For a chemist, I'm a damn good mechanic... The only extra parts I had left over were those that I replaced/upgraded.
