Congrats on the times. That thing is making (and taking) some serious power, especially at your weight. Very impressive. I weigh almost the same and think im pushing it at 14lbs.

Ive seen a lot of people lose motors cus they ran the car on low gas and got that lean spike.

Thanks ya it did make some power until my screw up. Funny thing was before the pass i was like hmm i should have enough gas but i cut my best 60' and well starved it. When i pulled back to my trailer i had 5 gallons of c16 and put it all in the car still sounded great then pulled into the lanes to make another pass and i heard motor noises and heard the same stupid *** sound as last time. Stupid *** bearing! First thing i said was damnit i just wasted 5 gallons of C16 haha

Yeah, I wasn't happy at all. Especially since the car has been running so well and I have only a few weeks to get it ready for our track day. If I recall, it put down 677/626 on 16 lbs. or so. Power drops off hard after 5700 or so. I think this winter I am going to go with a max effort 5.3 with a Martin cam and this same turbo. Will see how it runs next spring.

Not trying to thread hi-jack, but what would the rest of the specs be on the 5.3 cams Martin? If you're willing to give them out that is.

And sorry to hear about your motor Doug, hope to see it back together quick. Impressive 60 ft time though, looks good leaving the line wheels up!

Thanks! Ya kind of wish it was a softer launch might have saved the motor for at least another couple passes lol

HA! I'm all too familiar with this statement man. If not for the dumbass mishaps, our motors would run forever with boost. But with HP and a turbo comes problems, guaranteed. Good thing it's so addicting!

Looks like you already made some good tear down progress too. Let me know what you end up finding when it comes apart some more, and good luck.

Stuff comes apart fast when you know the socket sizes, order you need to take stuff off, etc cause you've done it several times lol.

Tore the motor down last night and found something better than what i expected. One rod really bent but every other rod had a slight bend to them. Still bought the oil pan baffle that bill mentioned and will go with a new oil pump before installing the next motor.

So pretty much found the limits of the gen3 rods and they were right where i thought they would be.

Buddy took this picture though it was awesome

9.20s and nearly 150mph in a heavy car is a pretty respectable STOCK limit lol. The stock GM stuff is awesome.
