What oil pump do you guys run? I have a SLP had 50psi idle 80 wot I really think its working great but I think its time for a change after seeing the last motor and how the bearings looked. What's a good pump ported ls6?? Stock? Melling?

I run the melling pump. I had the same pump in my previous car and had no issues. My oil pressure is insanely high though, ha. It rarely drops below 60 psi at idle and the needle is pegged at WOT.

Well there we have it, about 800whp, stock-ish weight and the gen3 rods will bend lol. No piston damage?

I run a ported ls6 and rotella t6 oil. oil pressure is about 60 under normal conditions and 40 after some racing.

Ya the SLP had great oil pressure (Never logged it during launch) but wot was 80 I really don't think the pump was the problem but might as well get a new one.

Haha Ya i say that's some real data right there. Pistons, cyl walls all looked perfect! bearings got a little hot but that's to be expected when clearances go to hell.

I think i'll go with the ported LS6 and do a little grinding to fit on my double chain.

Great runs Doug. Sorry and yet jealous to see you crossed the threshold of power so few ever experience. Good luck with the forged set up! I am cheering you on from the sidelines.

You have no faith in the TU2? lol I think like i talked about i'll try a back to back comparison run this cam dyno it do some track time and throw your cam in there with the same number, see the gains and where they are in the curve. I can only swing so much $$ this year. Its been a very expensive one for me and i have a list that i still need to get before next season. One of those is a Pro Flo XT intake.........

I would love to see that, since I'm also switching from a TU2 to a "Martin Spec" cam.

Intake valve close event of the TU2 is much too late for a shorter runner intake. IMO it's too late for a long runner intake knowing what I know now.

Let's just say I've learned a lot since I recommended that cam. You're going to lose a ton of bottom end power if you don't match the cam to the intake.

Your car is heavy and under geared.

Just trying to help make sure your combo is optimal.

That's OK though, it just means my cam will gain that much more when you do swap.
