I say pull a couple caps to check bearings throw your arp bolts/ studs on the new motor clean it up and let it eat. No since in turning a 300 dollar junkyard motor into a 600 or 700 dollar motor. That's the beauty of a 300 dollar motor you really don't have to give a crap about it.

Just stab that bad boy in there as is with the fasteners and LS9 gaskets and let it eat. When it breaks get another 300 dollar motor and go again. Doesnt matter if a motor's forged or stock they all eventually meet the same fate when you are dealing with these power levels. Just keep the boost to a consevative 15-16 psi on the street and put it on kill at the track and it should last awhile.

Swap the rods and pistons over from the LS2, it's worth it. Especially them being a flat top piston for the added compression.
I honestly wouldn't use the ARP bolts. You're not turning enough RPM to need them IMO and I've never seen a bolt break or come apart. Just bent rods.
I think your clearances were too tight. What were they?

I would just leave it as is, No telling how many miles are on it, but if everything looks good that means its happy the way it is and will continue to be until you start pushing 800+ RWHP, then its a crap shoot. If you start changing things up rods ect, your going to need new bearings and you are back to having to break it in easy/ spend more money.

Thanks man I appreciate that. Its the whole reason I post often. I am finding different things through experience and I hope that it can be somewhat helpful to others on here. I know I learned a ton from here and other members also so if you ever have questions feel free to ask

But while I run the stock bottom I'm going to build a forged motor for the next round. hopefully I can make this last till the end of the season......
