Default LT1 Blower sizing

I purchased an engine awhile back and am starting to look around for a blower. The engine specs are as follow:

Block: Stock LT1
Crank: Callies DragonSlayer - Stroke: 3.750
- Main Journal Size: 2.449
- Rod Journal Size: 2.100
- Bob Weight: 1888 Internal
Rods: Oliver Forged I beams - Length: 6.00
Pistons: Diamond w/upgraded pins
- Pin Size: .927
- Diameter: 4.040
- Compression Height: 1.125
- Dome/Dish: -31cc
Main Bearings: MS 909 HXK
Main Clearance: .0024
Rod Bearings: CB 663HK
Rod Clearance: .0021
Rings: Total Seal TNT 1/16 1/16 3/16
Top Gap: 26
2nd Gap: 22
Deck Height: -.006
Block Height: 9.000
Torque Main: 70 w/ moly / 60ft.lbs.
Torque Rod: 70ft.lbs w/ moly

The heads are ported AFR 227s with Jessel comp shaft mounted rockers that flow:

.2 138/103
.3 206/139
.4 255/173
.5 293/198
.6 308/210
.7 313/229
.8 314/237
chamber size: 56cc

Compression should be ~8.8:1

The cam specs are:
Duration @ .050" 236/242
Lift .572/.576 (1.65/1.6)
Lobe Sep. 115
Advance +4

Intake manifold is a ported Edelbrock LT4 airgap. I have not decided on intercooler type yet. I am leaning toward air to water. Meth injection will be utilized.

My power goal is 800 RWHP. Does this seem realistic for the parts? I want a good balance between power and longitivity.

So I am trying to figure out what size blower I should run on this. The price of the D-1SC is attractive but I'm afraid I would be maxing out the blower and belt slip will become an issue. I am tentatively thinking an F-1A is my best option; it should meet my power goals without being pushed too hard and it does not have the fitment issues the F1-C/R do (block has to be ground to clear).

It sounds like there are going to be alot of F-1Rs on the market since the new F-1X is coming out, maybe it would be the best option pricewise. Would the R meet my goals or would it be overkill?

Also what belt setup would you guys recommend? would a 12rib be good or go with a cog drive?

Any feedback is appreciated!

You got a stout motor going together. I don't think a D1SC will be enough, but I think the F1a is plenty and will get you there.

I would email Silas (The SRZ) as he is thinking about selling his F1a complete setup (I think it has ~1k miles on it).

If i go nuts and decide to crank up the power how much HP would the F1a support?

LSX guys have gotten 1000rwhp+ out of it, so I would think 900rwhp is doable with a stout LTx.

I wouldn't go any smaller than thew F-1A. Mike Harvey's '95 runs very well with an F-1C, shown here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdsOf...layer_embedded
He remade the bracket to eliminate flex that he was having, he made an extra one and you might want to pm him on it. Bob

I've been doing more research lately and the YSI seems to have quite a few fans.

I was leaning toward the F-1R but I have read that it really likes to be spun fast; I'd like to keep my engine under 7000 RPMs.

Is this just a myth? All blowers are going to make more boost the faster you spin them I assume. Do some make better boost across the RPM range or are they all linear?

Some do build boost better, a lot of it depends on the impeller design. Bob

I've been doing more research, still not sure on which blower but I've been looking more into the brackets. What do you guys think would be the best for a street strip setup, a 12rib or a cog?

The only cog bracket ive seen for an LT1 is House of boostsetup (which seems pretty pricey and I havent found much feedback on). Are there some SBC low mount brackets that would work on the LT1?
