Indeed!

Took on a nitrous fed C6 this weekend on the streets of 'Ole Mexico and played the Gap Band.

Back to the track this weekend for more boost and deeper into the 9's.

Mike, you still running the magnafuel 750 that was on the car? If so how's it hanging in there? I'm looking for a good continuous duty beast of a pump for my swap. Need something that can handle street driving without overheating or prematurely crapping out.

I am still running it with no issues whatsoever. It is a bit noisy, but anything pushing that level of fuel is going to make noise. I think I will run out of injector before the pump.

I have a magnafuel 750 on e85 with 120lbers, around 800whp now and no problems yet. Noisy but nowhere close to an A1000 or weldon

Thanks for the info guys. Much easier to do a sumped tank and strap on the 4303 than some of the other crazy ideas I had been coming up with. Just good to know it's reliable as a continuous duty pump.

Went to the track yesterday. It was my intention to turn it up to 18 psi and 15 degrees of timing. However, I kept blowing off my lower intercooler pipes. So, this was the only full, clean pass of the day. Car hooked like a bastard launching on 5-6 psi. Best 60 was a 1.38, but lost the intercooler pipe right before the 1/8th. Here is the best pass, a 9.5, inside and out.

It is my objective to crack the 8's in this car on 20 psi or less. The DA on this pass was 1200 feet. When the good air arrives, things are going to pick up.

Its running good on that soft tune. There is a ton left in it and its impressive how easy that car makes mid 9 second passes.

Yeah, it is creeping up. I thought I had 13 degrees of timing on this run, but when I went to up it, I had 12. I moved it to 14, and could have gone 15-16 (I had 6 gallons of MS109 in it), but I kept having issues. Next time.

Ok, so good news....and bad news.

Good first. We had a Street Car race yesterday and I was the top qualifier. I ran a best of 9.3 @ 145. I tapped into the 5's in the 1/8 with a 5.9 and I went as fast as 117.5 in the 1/8. Car was hooking and booking. I had a cell full of MS109 and I gave it some timing (up to 15*), some boost (18 psi) and let Leroy eat.

Bad news. On the last pass I felt it nose over and get a bit rough about 1,000 feet out. I was 5 mph down on a pass that was destined for the basement of the 9's at close to 150. Idle was off too. After getting home, I pulled the plugs and found this bastard:

Compression test reveals this hole has 90 psi. The rest are in the 130-145 range. So, we have an issue. Melted piston, smoked HG, bent valve from the porcelain from the plug? I don't know. I will pull the passenger side head and take a look this weekend. It was a hell of a run though, with a nice wheelie on a 1.38.

Prayers to the HP gods that it is not a burned piston would be good, LOL.

We will meet up next time. This is just a bump in the road. Leroy will be back in action soon.

I leaked it down today and the piston is good. The exhaust valve is wasted. Head will come off this weekend and I will get it back together next weekend.

Here is another video of the valve melting pass, up close and high quality:

I hit the dyno this weekend. I made 805 RWHP and 685 RWTQ (STD) on 15.8 psi average. I was hitting a wall at 6200 rpm and the A/F was just tanking. Turns out there was a pretty massive voltage issue that was wreaking all kinds of havoc. So, I need to get that worked out, but it was still a good day. I think it would have gone 900 if I could have pulled clean to 7k and even more with real boost.

Here is the video:

Added this much more substantial Garrett cored custom intercooler over the break

I will see if it provides any gains in power or reduction in IATs when I get back on the dyno. I drove it yesterday and it looks like I picked about 1.5 psi of boost on wastegate. This core is 1.5 inches thicker than the previous core, which was a VS Racing.
