I've been 1.54 60ft on the footbrake with 2.73's and glide, making sub 600rwhp thru the 60ft, this was just on street tires too, so once you get the launched figured out, I don't see the 2.73 gears being a problem, be killer on the highway with those and OD!

You might spin with the deeper gear too. I would try the 2.73's for a while.

denmah why did you pick an ms1 $150 and msd 6010 $300+ instead of just getting an ms3x for $500ish and have way more options. the fact of having Sequential fuel over batch fire would have made it worth it all on its own. plus 2 step launch control the list goes on an and on.

i think somewhere earlier in this thread or another one he mentioned that he knows how to do the ms1 and MSD combo and has done it several times. these guys get stuff done fast so can't blame him for staying with a known combo.

BTW- it has been forever with an update. Spoiled by all the quick updates before, what is taking so long with the cage and the 80e

I hear that sequential looses it advantage after a certain hp. It won't make or break the deal. Plus a 6010 is dumb easy to program.

too complex, the options in the software are colossal and unneeded in my opinion, the MSD box has 2 step built in.

in my experience simple works, and it works well for me.

if i needed anything more i would do a stock harness and stock computer with a SD OS upgrade

busy just driving the car, i figured why take it apart to do the trans, and rip the interior out, i like taking it out at night and making the turbo sneeze

there are lots of advantages to the 3x might be worth learning something new. i understand using msd box when running a carb. just dont see the point when one system can do everything for the same cost if not less when its all said and done. and not having to flip between two different programs when tuning....

i just set the timing once and i am done.

honestly im not interested in the extra wiring, my patience only exists for the time it takes to wire and fire the injectors and go do burnouts

HAHA I hear that man. I loose my patience working with wiring pretty quickly. And I can understand using something that you are familiar with, and it works god damn well, so why change to something new and more complex.

Whats the ETA on getting everything buttoned back up with the 80e?

going to bolt it in tonight and fix up a trans mount, i did the lines and fittings yesterday.

and then doing a final measure on the driveshaft tonight with everything where it should be, then hopefully getting the shifter and dipstick before the weekend, and driveshaft too, then drive her around and maybe hit the dyno and see how it likes the lockup, next weekend i gotta pull the interior for the cage to go in

trans is bolted in, dropped off driveshaft for resizing.

i was going to bolt in the tq converter but i get my dipstick tomorrow hopefully in the mail so if its a pain in the *** to get in we can unbolt my tranny and put the dipstick in, then throw the converter bolts in, then building the crossmember tomorrow.

hopefully shifter comes in this week, i bought it saturday night online, and then i get my driveshaft by the weekend would be nice to drive it this weekend.
