Yeah, that's just because WBs are really just reading Lambda and extrapolating to an AFR based on the stoich number of the fuel you tell it you're running. In which case you can just stick with the AFR numbers you are comfortable with and everything is good.

Denmah, did you see higher intake manifold pressures after removing the intercooler without making any changes to the wastegate? Related question, is your wastegate signal line coming off the compressor scroll?

yes i could run much higher boost on much lower duty cycle without the intercooler, quite a bit of pressure drop

on WG i would run like 15psi with the intercooler
without the intercooler the car runs like 18-19

on 50% duty cycle i used to make like 19psi, now on 50% it makes like 23-24 on the street lol

Thanks, that's interesting stuff!

There might be a little more than meets the eye with it though I suppose... I have no doubt there is a pressure drop from the lost flow of the intercooler, but if the intercooler is doing its intended job of cooling, the ideal gas law would show that some pressure would be lost there too I suppose. I'm guessing it wouldn't be THAT much though.

Did you say there was no evidence of detonation down deep in the plugs that were in the bad cylinders?

In the land of diesels when i put the monster turbo on my d-max and power peaked i installed gauges pre and post intercooler to find out where the incoming air was choking at tried everything else to rule the cooler out come to find out it was a crappy piping bend... moral of the story is once you put the screws to it like Denmah has every little shitten thing becomes a bigger concern id like to give it up to that ebay intercooler kit for the hell thats be thrown at it by the Sloppy crew. You all say poor motor i say poor dyno. Denmah probly has worn the rolers off that B

Bench grinder? Are you serious... ? Put that fancy gadget away, and just scrape those bitches against the sidewalk. Same result and it doesn't use electricity!
