Denmah, did you see higher intake manifold pressures after removing the intercooler without making any changes to the wastegate? Related question, is your wastegate signal line coming off the compressor scroll?
#1264
yes i could run much higher boost on much lower duty cycle without the intercooler, quite a bit of pressure drop
on WG i would run like 15psi with the intercooler
without the intercooler the car runs like 18-19
on 50% duty cycle i used to make like 19psi, now on 50% it makes like 23-24 on the street lol

Thanks, that's interesting stuff!
There might be a little more than meets the eye with it though I suppose... I have no doubt there is a pressure drop from the lost flow of the intercooler, but if the intercooler is doing its intended job of cooling, the ideal gas law would show that some pressure would be lost there too I suppose. I'm guessing it wouldn't be THAT much though.
Did you say there was no evidence of detonation down deep in the plugs that were in the bad cylinders?

nope we will see when i take it apart, im waiting till i get those pistons because i wanna do some more MS2 testing, finishing the harness for that tomorrow or thursday and plugging that back in now on the bad motor so i cant hurt it haha

In the land of diesels when i put the monster turbo on my d-max and power peaked i installed gauges pre and post intercooler to find out where the incoming air was choking at tried everything else to rule the cooler out come to find out it was a crappy piping bend... moral of the story is once you put the screws to it like Denmah has every little shitten thing becomes a bigger concern id like to give it up to that ebay intercooler kit for the hell thats be thrown at it by the Sloppy crew. You all say poor motor i say poor dyno. Denmah probly has worn the rolers off that B

I just figured it out Denmah and his crew are the car lover version of the Lonely Island guys.....hahah crap couldnt resist but any hoot why not air to water man you are making enough power plus its ez to hide

Dam tree huggers the Green method cant be used on me brother im dirt road poor no sidewalks or streets where i live. besides here in wyoming the wind blows like a **** well over 600 of those huge wind generators powering mad science sh???t up here in my barn even tho wyoming is the largest coal producing states EVER! Go Obama! tried using the horses hoof file but took too much off

I would think a hand file would get it done just fine, but I didn't do gap mine when I had my heads off so hopefully it'll be fine with stock gap. I know skinnies doesn't gap his
