Default Direct replacement for blown up Ls1. 5.3 or 6L ?

I'm looking for a 5.3 or 6L to put in a turbo 4th gen. The car is a 98 and I want something that all the sensors will plug right into.
The motor is going to get built but it might not be right away. I was leaning towards an iron block 6.0l. Should I use the 317 heads from the ls1 or buy a long block.
Are certain years or models better then others.
I've been messing around with Ltx motors for years. I'm new the LS family of engines.

5.3 or 6.0 will be the same as far as sensors go. just need to make sure they are gen 3 designs for the 98 computer. The "best" years are after 05 or 06 with the stronger rods as long as they are gen 3 (24x reluctor).

If your going turbo hard to beat a 5.3 for the money. Strong and cheap money. 6.0's are strong but damn hard to find a 6.0 for cheap. The cheapest 6.0 i could find locally to me was 1200 and over. bought my 5.3 for 400 bucks and put down 580 rwhp on only 12 lbs on a stingy mustang dyno .

Thanks thats what I was looking for. Did you run the stock 5.3 cam ?
I've read that people use the z06 cam.

I bought a 5.3 for pretty cheap last month, intake to oil pan. What im doing is custom turbo cam, 243 heads, stock oil pan with a Vic jr intake. Far as motor wise I don't think it gets much cheaper than that. 5.3s. Are the hot ticket right now.

I called around and a 6.0L is only $300 more then a 5.3L, so 6l it is.
How can I visually identify a gen 3 (24x reluctor) 6L.
