Default New custom front mount turbo kit, KEEPS AC!**Dyno Results Added**

**NEW PICS ADDED** Mocking up the cold side in post #32

***Dyno Results added in post #72***

Hi guys, after seeing a build thread on here, '68 turbo nova build new tubes, I got in touch with the builder and had him set me up with a custom turbo kit that keeps my A/C. I have not installed the kit permanently in my car yet, but mocked it up and everything fit like a glove. The kit is great because it keeps the Alternator, PS pump, and A/C compressor in their stock location!! Spark plug access is no problem with this kit as well. I did replace my radiator with a griffin and convert it to a vertical setup so there is a lot of room in front of the engine for the turbo.
The headers and the quality of the welds look awesome! Here are some pics of the hot side!
The wastegate isn't shown in this picture, but it will be mounted at the merge just under the turbine housing.
Please feel free to comment on the setup.

Here a few bad pics of the mock up. Unfortunately the camera they were taken with didn't focus very well.

I know that some may say the downpipe may look a little low, but it does not sit any lower than the k-member so clearance will not be an issue.

I am away for work this week, but I will post up more pics of the kit installed when I get back into town

Thanx man! I couldn't be more pleased with it myself.

It isn't in the car because we pulled it off to mount the BOV and to take some pictures. unfortunately I didn't have time to put it back in yet... working 6/12's out of town right now... not fun but it funds my build

As for how much I have in the kit all I can say right now is that it is very reasonable... as in more reasonable than any other header kit out there.

Thanx! Gonna be running a 76mm for now. It is still on a stock bottom end so I am going to baby the setup until I can afford a forged shortblock. Power levels I am going for are going to be 550-580rwhp for now. Obviously the setup is capable of a lot more, but I don't want to push the stock bottom end any harder until I have a new one to replace it.

Added a few pics of the hot side mocked up. They aren't the greatest because the camera didn't focus very well, but you can get the idea.

Honestly, I am not sure. From what I understand a GT55 is a pretty big turbo. If you used a low profile fan instead of the stock shroud like I did, you may be able to. With the stock shroud it is a close fit with the turbo in this location, but my guy can put the turbo anywhere you want it and space allows.

Right now, my hp goal is around 550-580rwhp. I know that will be easily achievable, but I don't want to push the stock shortblock any harder than that.

BTW, I concur, he did a Fantastic Job! (I haven't used the work Fantastic or Concur in a while )

Oh Yeah, and you've got mail

one thing this builder stresses bout when fabbing is plug access so i dont see that being an issue mine are easier to get to than my old conventional dynatech ls conversion headers.

From what I have seen while the headers were mocked up, plug accessibility is very good with these headers. I couldn't be happier

Sounds good Willizm! We'll have to get together and do some cruising. I sent you a message on TheChicagoGarage.com
