I dont want to make this post about me so if you have specific ?'s please pm me, but to answer this for now, I have not opened it up yet with the new engine. I am putting in 50lb injectors tomorrow and then doing some tuning. I will probably have numbers soon and I will post within next couple weeks. Will probably tune for a safe 500-550RWHP. Could go higher but I dont think my fuel system will handle it...

I asked this question many times to STS here are the email responses i recieved plus my messages

Thomas, Thanks for your interest in STS. Our system will work with
your long tube headers and it actually takes the place of your left
handsub frame connector. With the 3" y-pipe you will only need minor
modifications to make that work. Basically weld our exhaust section on
instead of being able to just clamp it on. Thanks, dave@ststurbo.com
Good luck.

ok so your telling me that those hollow pipes are going to take the place of a
SFC and withstand all that torque without damage over time?? i cant believe
that. could you eleberate on that?

Most of the standard SFC's we have ever seen are also hollow pipe or
tubing? Do you have something other than that?

my next response would be yes they are hollow tubing but they are boxed and they are bolted/welded to the frame. I think i understand where Dave is comming from though i think the inlet piping is bolted to the frame along side the car like a SFC and although not as strong i think it would be strong enough but i dont know thats just my .02

I can see where the piping may be as strong, since it a tension force, not a lateral, as a SFC and true enough, most I have seen, including my own are hollow. Interesting design concept. I wonder if there is/was a way around this but cheaper to do it this way? Maybe they should offer the pass side SFC as a part of their kit!

And you didn't believe me before..shame on you

j/k

Like I said, the intake pipe is very strong and bolts in just like a SFC. I could not imagine this thing bending...

Default Sfc

An answer from STS:

"We've compared our system to some of the SFC's on the market and it is a lot stronger than some of the stuff that nobody complains about"

Jesse, not the case at all. I usually ask for more than one reference before I jump into things. And seeing the owner/builder of STS reply in his email, that makes it easier to digest, as well thinking of it in a way that the force a SFC deals with is more of a tension. Being pulled length wise, rather than shearing stength, big difference. Sorry if you felt that way.

Damn look out for bottoming out your turbo housing. I'd rather have the expensive parts tucked away from the road, etc.

G'luck on your install though. Always good to see another turbo kit in the market.

Question

Does anyone know if you can install this kit yourself...like lets say in your driveway? is there any welding involved?

I saw the kit and it looks preety easy to make .. I was wondering what turbo did they use to get the self lube effect and what Wastegate did they use..
All the pipes lookes like the muffler guy can make it and would proably be alot cheaper

If anyone has any info please email at my2002z2835th@aol.com..

thanks

steve
