Default Finally, goodbye DUMPS!(pics)

Always been a fan of tailpipes on cars, and ever since I went turbo, getting rid of my long tubes and B&B bullets has left a void in my hopeful sounds from the car. I had to have custom pipes made from the down pipes back, into dumps, years ago when I first went to the PTK kit, mostly for cost reasons, and not wanting to use a possibly restrictive B&B catback. So dumps it was. I have been talking with a buddy for a while, who has a welder, some free time, and some skills. So he told me get the material, and he'll do it up for me. Sweet. But I didn't want to really quiet the car down at all,...just clean it up a hair,..which is why I wanted mufflers no bigger then 5"'s long,..and obviously straight through.

Recently, RacePartSolutions in Boca hooked me up with everything I needed to have my catback custom made. Sent everything to my buddies shop, and brought the car over. I am hoping to have it completed by next weekend,...as I gotta show date to make. I not only wanted it to be unique, so I drew a diagram for him to follow,.... and oh yeah,...it's all aluminum, with a touch of carbon fiber.

Here's the lastest pic's of it that I have. I was trying to see what different tip styles would look like, ended up going with bare carbon, in and out, and the TIPs will BE towards the center of the car,...as pictured but, will be much further in, like only coming out an inch or so...these pics below are not actually we're the tips will be,

My 3" dumps behind the trans are loud enough, yours would probably drive me carzy. Cool looking progress though.

Yeah Joe,...I had enough bro. It wasn't so much cause it was loud,...it just sounded a little truck like, to me atleast with no mufflers, and such low timing in the car. Then wiping off everything under the car, the black soot, wasn't a big deal but had to do it. I realized just how loud dumps we're the other day, when I went over a draw bridge in the car. I was @ about 1200rpms,...cruising,...went over the grated draw bridge part,...and it sounded like my car actually turned off,...I looked down at the rpms,..everything seemed fine,...I was like WTF.....then boom, concrete again,....and suddenly my car sounded like it was running again. I always new it was loud, just didn't realize it until then.

A week later I order all this stuff. I honestly can't wait. I haven't been this excited about a part on the car since I went with turbos.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Stainless steel wool...exhaust packing. You can get it from jegs or summit. Not expensive.

Lightweight, little restriction if any, and a totally different sound ....works for me. Personally to me....anything with real carbon is cool. Not sure which part to you looks like a motorcycle but, thanks for your opinion. It's not everyday you can say your entire catback, weighs 18lbs....which is what the total shipping weight was, we obviously didn't use everything. The entire exhaust, turbos back, is all V band connected for easy workings.

Yea, that works for me.

Nice that someone remembers those things. As a kid, I used to ride bikes through a neighborhood, a nice neighborhood by the beach. One house, had a garage door that would be about a foot or three open, allowing you to see the bottom of this space ship looking car, and two, giant carbon fiber cans,,....which did resemble street bike cans/mufflers....atleast in my memory. It was always a disappointment if the garage was closed. Glad you like it bro,..can't wait to see the finished results and hear it.
