Nate, would you mind PM'ing me the external dimensions of the PT88? real rough and dirty...front to back, diameter of the Turbine and compressor?

I am using a T66 I have laying around to start the hotside but will be getting the PT88 in a month or two...I just want to make sure I am leaving enough clearance for the hood, etc...

Money tightened up a bit since I found out I'm gonna be a Dad! haha...

Congrats!

The PT88 is 7 3/4" on the compressor, measured 90 degrees from the outlet.
8" on the turbine, measured 90 degrees from the inlet.
Overall length is 10 1/2"

Nice job Nate.
Really enjoyed the magazine article.
I always gravitate to Nova articles having one myself. Mine is way more of a drag car, but is always driven to the track.
Should my rat motor ever expire, a turbo LS will be next up. Would for sure make more of a driver compared to what mine is now.
I bought my vette to learn the LS as well as tuning, so an LS in the Nova would be a natural evolution.
Keep up the excellent work!

Been too busy with other stuff but wittling away at getting it running again. Added an oil cooler. Just need to finish up the downpipe and some misc.

Well got the new setup to the dyno. Ended up with 942whp at 27lbs. I was willing to do whatever it took to hit 1000 but maxed the 120 injectors on 43psi base, we turned it up to 50 and then went a little lean as the two Bosch 044 (one on a bap) were done. Time to add another pump. No street time yet. Track times next weekend in Ia!

Very cool man! Very cool!

I could probably go back and look but I will be lazy and just ask...did you go with a brand new 5.3 block when you did this build or did it have some mileage on it? I have been tossing the idea back and forth about 25.3'ing my Cutlass and just building a really stout 5.3L based of the L33 but I am not 100% sure I could find a good block to start with.

i do because then all you have to do is flatline the injector flow rate table in hp tuners and then the regulator adds fuel when in boost to compensate.

Nate,
Was that to the wheel? Impressive numbers none the less. How soon did boost come in? Any graph to post?

Nice! That ought to get your attention at the track.

Hopefully, does NOT ge the attention of the track officials!

What exactly did you change besides the turbo? head work? Cam?

I'm excited to get moving on mine. With Martin's help we went with a BW S476 with an 87 turbine, and one of his custom cams. I also have an L33.

I just might go ahead and do it right with pistons and rods....

Looking forward to your track numbers.

Ron

130k block

Yes, at the wheels

Yes, boost referenced

The car has a 6pt bar in it good to 10.0, may try to get the 10pt conversion welded in this week so its legal

I just have a few street miles on it so far but saw positive pressure starting at 3000rpm with moderate throttle.

Went from 224/228 cam to Liljohn spec 231/235 and had the 799's hand ported, also LS1 intake to LS2 intake and 92 shitty china tb.

Nice upgrades.
Martin speced my cam and turbo, Cam is right in that ballpark. Turbo is a BW S476. I also plan to hand port the 799's. Should be interesting.

Ny Nova has the safety equip already. But the cage cert expired as did my NHRA license.

Hopefully, you can just explain to them that you didn't think it would go that fast! Ha! Sometimes it works, just depends on the track. My track? No way, they live to catch violators. 9.999, you get a trip to the tower and a warning.

You have the power to go 8's there, if it hooks, and if everything else is happy.

Have fun, and be careful!

Wow, those are great numbers!
Sounds like 160 LB injectors and more pump will put you over 1100 WHP mark!
Awesome to see numbers like that come off a single 88, car should be a rocket ship!
