For the record, when I measured my ring gaps, I found they were 0.010" to 0.012" which is why I always made good n/a power, but it's also why my motor grenaded, well the 15psi of forced air didn't help either.

The new motor has the rings gapped to 0.024" on the first and second rings. I might get some blowby, but at least they won't take out a ring land again.

Hot Rod did an article last year where they opened up the ring gaps on a factory motor and had good success with it. But like people said, if you're going to go to the point of pulling a piston to regap the rings, you might as well put in a decent set of pistons and rods.

It was the recommendation of my engine builder. He's built quite a few more high horsepower forced induction motors than I have, and that's what he reccomended.

Ok, thanks.

Yes, yes it does.

For the record, I was disappointed to drop a cylinder but I have no regret because in the end I knew I would forge the engine anyway, at least that's how I see it.

Later,

Fuel pressure is indeed a good gauge to have, as it can alert you to a filter that is becoming clogged or a fuel pump going bad. ProCharger offers an AutoMeter fuel pressure gauge with the ProCharger logo on it. Here is a link to it. http://shop.brutespeed.com/ATI-MG001...MG001I-006.htm
Here is the ProCharger Boost/Vacuum gauge. http://shop.brutespeed.com/ATI-MG001...MG001I-005.htm

I feel that Siemens 60lb fuel injectors are the most common LS injectors on the market, and most tuners are use to tuning with them. Here is a link to them. http://shop.brutespeed.com/Siemens-1...ens-107961.htm

The ATI Performance Products balancer is what I recommend using. Here is a link to it. http://shop.brutespeed.com/ATI-Perfo...-AT-918853.htm

Here is the ProCharger crank pinning kit that is used to pin the balancer to the crankshaft. http://shop.brutespeed.com/ATI-3GKMM...-3GKMM-004.htm Bob
