If the unit fails prematurelty again I will probably go for a Borg Warner S500SX 88 MM turbo I dont hardly use this 101 anyway. I would like to hope for the best and hope the rebuild will last. Fed Ex didnt leave it today though because I wasnt home have to wait until friday.

Update: first pass off the trailer my 8 second trans am didn't want to spool the turbo launching at 3500 rpms... ran 10.30!! I upped the launch to 4500 and stared at a green light for 10 seconds on the TB before getting 4,500 rpms and boost... spun a bit on launch but only managed another 10.30 as I turned off the return road white smoke had filled the air over the track and poured out from under the Hood I thought the car was on fire. I checked the Turbo after its first two passes since the rebuild and it felt like it was seizing up and the shaft was sloppy as could be this time with all #6 plumbing coming from the engine. I am so happy with this product and recommend anyone who hates money should invest in a Precision Turbo because if you run one you can kiss it all good by.

what sucks is when I send it back I will be told it was oil starved, or fed dirty oil, or installed incorrectly. I have #6 feed #12 drain right off the same place Every turbo LS1 gets its oil above the filter. With a 19" drop to the pan, it's mounted very high up.

Guess they are hit and miss. I'm pretty good at blowing up turbo's but my PT88 was one of the only turbo's I have ever had that I didn't blow up. It pushed my truck to mid 9's @145mph. Turbo was always really tight, and had very little end play. I sold it to a guy over on the mullet and haven't had any death threats yet

This isn't the only site I have seen newer PT problems on. I know their older turbos are badass, EVERYONE and their mother used to run PT's, now it seems they are dropping the ball big time. I hate seeing good companies slowly flush down the ******* because they are too tight to cut their profits.

I had an old PT88 too.. yes it totally gave me no issues. The PT101 is newer after that started "manufacturing" *importing* their own parts in house *ebay china* so The only thing that will satisfy me at this point is a full refund and we KNOW that will never happen.

older PTE turbos were built with authentic garrett parts. Garrett cancelled their contract with PTE and PTE went elsewhere for parts.
Personal experience ive had two new PTE 6765's sieze or smoke on my supra and i went BW on my supra . I DID go PTE 7675 on my camaro but im driving around fingers crossed and I havent boosted much on it just yet. one thing PTE has going for them is that they make great power and are packaged nice and small but sometimes you just gotta deal with the bigger housings garrett and BW use

Is there an ideal and/or minimum pressure for these? I have a brand new PT76GTS in the box here I just ordered. I have an LT1 so maybe the oil issues aren't the same between the them. I've had a TC76 (purchased from you BTW
) on my LT1 since 2008 and it's never had an oiling issue. Daily driven and driven hard. Lots of track time too. My TC76 has almost no drop for the return line (the length of the drain hose is about 5" including fittings)

I'm REALLY going to be paying attention to this install of the PT76GTS.
