So I got the car back together in time to drive it an hour and a half each way to our 1/8th mile track for a no prep event a couple of weeks ago. The car ran flawlessly there and back. I didn't race the car as the tune us no where near enough dialed in and I was on Nitto's.

I have been driving the car here and there working on the tune. Hoping to start making some good pulls on it soon.

It's a cheap Winbook TW700. Bought it for the full size USB and size. It has worked perfectly for me and a buddy who uses one also.

I got mine from eBay for less than $80.

So the past two weekends I had an opportunity to run the car at the track. First trip was to our closest 1/4 mile track on the 16th. I planned on running the car through the 1/8th is all just to get the tune dialed in and work on getting it to leave. Anyway, we had all kinds of issues while there.
First, the trans was shifting from 1-3 and staying in 2nd only long enough to pick it up on the log. I could not feel the shift at all and I knew something wasn't right. We put the controller into manual mode and it shifted just fine. We looked at the tune closer and figured it out though. The trans takes 200 rpm to get the shift done and we had the 1-2 shift point set at 6100, and the 2-3 at 6300. What we think was happening is that the trans was commanding the 1-2 shift at 6100, going to 6300 and thinking it needed to be in 3rd gear. We lowered the 1-2 shift rpm and it started shifting correctly. This was just a band aid though but it seemed to work.
The next issue we ran into was the boost control was not working. The wire I tapped into for 12v switched no longer had power going to it. It was probably one that was cut behind the dash and was never removed. That's what I get for not testing it prior. We got that fixed and the boost control started to work.
Next issue was the shift linkage came loose. Got that situated again after messing with it on the trailer for 30 minutes.
The best pass of the day was a 6.7 @ 103 in the 1/8th on 6 lbs. We hit it with 12 lbs but I had issues with releasing the 2-step and the footbrake at the same time and I held the 2-step out past the 60', ha. I was used to the 2-step being on the footbrake only with the stock PCM and MSD 2-step.
The day wasn't a complete bust as we worked out some issues and the car came home unharmed.
This past Friday, the 22nd, there was a midnight madness going on at our local 1/8th mile track. A buddy and I had a few things we wanted to do to make sure the car was 100% ready this time. One big thing was verifying the timing of the motor since switching to the MS3 Pro setup. It isn't like the stock PCM where it syncs the timing and you know exactly was you have in it. We put the light on it after verifying TDC and making a timing pointer, and sure enough it was retarded 6*. Made the changes in MS3 Pro and were all set. Also changed the plugs and took apart the wastegates and cleaned them. I was having an issue with one sticking open for a few minutes after a hard pull.
We made it to the track and it was a really hot and humid out. My first pass on spring pressure only was a 6.7 @ 98. I knew the car was going to be down on some power but didn't think it would be that far down. We kept creeping up on the boost and the car kept going faster. I ended up running a personal best of 6.15 @ 115 with a 1.45 60' on 16 lbs. The previous best through the 1/8th was a 6.16 @ 116 on 15 lbs but on that day it was in the 50's temp wise. So, it did take more boost to go about the same time but I am thinking the heat killed some power.
One thing that will still need addressed is the converter. It showed 22% slip on my best pass and it only got worse the more power we threw at it.
All in all I am happy with the way the car is running on the new system and turbo. My goal is to get it to go 5.9x @ 120+ which should be easily attainable. I will lock the converter in 3rd again when I run the 1/4 so I won't have any problems making it.
Here's the time slip from Friday...

I need to work on my staging process so I can cut a light and be in boost. I plan on going to the track this weekend for a "Street Car Challenge" event and they also have a midnight madness. I am going to setup the GoPro inside the car for a few passes.

Thanks! I have the 2-step set at 3500 and dump timing in the MS3 once it activates. I am able to leave on 7-8 lbs usually. With the stock PCM I didn't do any tricks or anything. Whatever timing was at in that portion of the able is what it stayed at on the 2-step. It took a little longer to build boost with the stock PCM due to that. I am loving the MS3 setup.

Set a personal best tonight. Made it to the "Fast 4" final and blew the tires off. The track must have gone away quickly because it never blows the tires off like it did. Oh well, I drove the car over 3 hours roundtrip, set a personal best in ET and 60' off the footbrake. Safe to say that I am happy. DA wasn't the greatest either but was still hoping to get that 5 second pass. Next time I will get it for sure.
