What turbo for 410ci stroker?
Hey guys!
I have a 410ci stoker in my 2005 GTO, and im looking to possibly but a little boost thru it. Motor is a forged 10.3:1 iron LQ9 with a 255/263 .632/.632 on a 110 lsa cam, WCCH stage 2 317's and a Super Vic intake manifold. I would like to make around 600whp or so and im really thinking about this turbo.

overall just looking for a fun street car, that will see some track duty, and be able to pull a 10.5 or so pass down the track. Id like to stay ball bearing for reliability reasons

Too small IMO.
The absolute smallest turbo I'd use on your car would be a S488 T6.
Personally I would use a GT88 or GT-55 T6 turbo.
If you're only wanting to make 600rwhp why not put a wet kit on it?
You're going to be wanting a lot more power once you first feel that boost come in and it's going to take a large turbo to keep back pressure at bay with that size of a motor.

If u want a single ( assuming u have space, and turn it around 6500-6800rpm ) ...comp turbo t6 ett 88mm or a 91mm in a .90 ar. If ur limited and in rpm space run a comp t4 88mm ett 1.25 ar. (Limiting rpm under 6500 Divided housing (a QSV would give it insane response).
Is it a auto or 6 sp?

Dont see how it would be a waste. He cant go small itll choke. The smaller AR helps. At the track itll move the heavy car out nice (cam isnt optimal either). Throw in some race gas turn it up and its a killer. Just because he says 600 and a 10.5 doesnt mean itll happen i think he will need close to 750 to be where he wants to be and he will easily make that on pump with any of those turbos.....

That garrett you listed is also a good turbo and is comparable to the GT88 I posted about.
I'd use the T6 1.23 AR for your motor.
10:1 will help it spool quickly and if you use the right cam specs it will really be nice to drive in and out of boost and build quickly along with not being timing sensitive. Again it will take a custom spec'd cam for this, but they aren't any more expensive than an off the shelf cam in the grand scheme of things.
I would personally use a S500SX88 T6 1.0 or 1.15AR. It has a 111mm turbine wheel but on your 10:1 410c.i. motor it will spool very well and it will not choke till about 1250rwhp
If you want a turbo that will max out around 1050rwhp that Garrett you posted is it. It will also spool better and be more efficient at lower boost levels than a larger turbo like a S500 like I would use, but that is because I'd have that puppy cranked up to 20psi cranking out 1000rwhp everywhere lol.
I've been in the boost boat before and I was always CRAVING more power as it was just too easy to turn the boost up and walk anything down whenever I wanted to.
Then you get used to it on the low boost setting and it's not that fast anymore and you find yourself running your high boost setting all the time and wanting more when that urge really hits. It's addictive for sure

With the right cam and 10:1 CR it will not be hard to spool at all especially with a 410 stroker I still don't understand why people are so scared of lag. It's tossed around and made out like if you don't buy a turbo that is smaller than what you think you need it wont spool fast.
Old school and not the correct way of thinking.
OP you will need a cam change though as that cam is totally wrong for boost although I really like HUC lobes for boost the valve events are way off for boost.
Something like 247/251 .632/.632 115+3 on HUC lobes would work well with your super victor intake, and any of the turbo's I listed above while keeping the dynamic compression down enough with a late enough IVC to use pump gas and take advantage of that single plane you have already.
