Well, i decided to install the 1.08 housing to see how it felt. spools great, and sounds amazing! The spooling sound is like a 18 wheeler! the BOV sounds much stronger too. My friend who has seen the car through every change, said it never felt or sounded better. I was able to get it up to 16psi on the street (trying to avoid cops)

Best of all, BP is down to 2:1, same as the original! I havent decided if i should try the 1.23 housing to bring it down a tiny bit more. Maybe I should just dyno with the current housing and see how it goes?

How does it spool compared to the old turbo? How high is the motor revving now?

spools MUCH better than the smaller wheel combo. I spin it to around 6k on the street, and I hit the rev limiter watching the BP guage... I think my rev limiter is 7k

This is why im contemplating the 1.23 a/r. It feels great now, just wondering if i'd unlock any more power with the other housing up in the higher RPM range

So they machined all the spare exhaust housings to fit the new wheel already?

If youtake it apart to try a different housing please take some pics and measurements of that turbine, please

Pop the other housing on there that bp should drop a good bit. I would not be surprised if it actually spools even better. So when is dyno day....haha

How does this feel vs the GT91 you had before? Do you think the power is similar? What about the spool?

Isn't 2:1 backpressure a pretty decent ratio? 2:1 seems pretty common on singled Supras.

As noted earlier, a large A/R often kills spool and adds very little to nothing on the top end. Sound Performance tested a variety of A/Rs on a 6265 and the results were that a .81 A/R made the most power and spooled the fastest vs larger A/R housings.

I would test out the 1.23 and see what it does. Back to back dynos of the two housings would be really great.

I think i'm gonna ask for the exact same turbo for my stock cube lq9 with a tighter .90ar t6 housing. Should be good! If it spools a little later than i want, i'll throw a quick spool valve on it. Get that dyno day set-up asap! :-)

Yeah! They brought me all the housings ready to go last night! I did take pics and measurements of the turbine wheel. Ill get those up in a few minutes

Yeah I think Ill just get some back to back tests on the dyno. I can swap out the housing in 30 minutes now! Power feels great. My buddy thinks its faster now, but i was busy paying attention to all the guages and watching the road and for cops. Hahah It definitely spools better than the GT91 though!

Yeah i was very happy with my previous results (2:1 BP) that made 1020rwhp on only 17psi! Not many setups make that kind of power on such a low psi. Im happy that its a 2:1 for now, and i I want more, we'll see what the 1.23 a/r does. I would guess it would bring it down to 1.5:1....

Sounds to me like the GT91 is the old reliable work horse, when in doubt go with a GT91, this new turbo sounds like it has lots of potential just needs more people with a understanding of turbos to run them and help work out the correct combinations to order for the LS crowd.

Here's an apples to oranges comparison for ya.

Twin HP7668's at 20psi with a 0.81AR with 1.54 : 1 backpressure ran 161mph at 3850lbs.

Added twin 0.96AR housings and picked up 3-4 mph at the same boost and spooled the same. Did not get a BP reading on the 96's.

Even under 1.5 : 1 there is power in lower back pressure.
