Those numbers almost seem to good to be true for the parts/boost used. Ever have it to the drag strip?

I gave up on "turboing" my C5 when I looked at the space available. Your setup looks great!

Ill be building a 5.3 for my next one. Anyone got any 4 digit numbers on a forged internal, nice heads and intake engine? What are these stock 5.3 blocks in forged form capable of with good parts and high boost? Not an engine running on a prayer either!

just finished so no not yet. made 630 on two different dynos on 12 lbs at 12-13* timing. 772 was on 16lbs maybe 16.5 on 14.5*. i thought id end up in the high 600s but the setup seems to just make power. Its a c5z so 6 speed helps.

my build thread. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-f...unt-c5z06.html

I had a 403 with a 150 shot on it. I can say this is way faster threw the gears! So its deff up there.

This is 14 lbs on the street. 315/35/18 toyo tqs. 3.15 gears

Don't see it much because it's more cost effective to build a 6.0. Forged internals for the smaller bore motors cost more.Much cheaper to build a 4"+ bore motor if your buying aftermarket parts.

Several guys with stock bottom end gen4 5.3's making over 1000 crank with a couple seasons worth of quarter mile racing and lots of street miles.

Looks like the 5.3 would be stronger block. Thicker walls.

Dumb question, how is 05+ engines ran off a early model pcm? Different reluctor and cam sensor in front stuff like that? Like if I ran s 2010 5.3 in my 2000 trans am?

Seems a little on the low side for a billet S480... more boost coming soon?

probably not. not out to set any records or impress anybody. theres plenty of power left in the tune seeings how im in the upper 9s low 10s for A/F over 5000 rpm (havent tuned for meth inj) and it only sees 12* max timing.

I figured I would post my results from yesterday i have a fairly basic combo:

10.5ish-1 compression
weisco Pistons
callies rods
Stock crank
stock 862 heads
fic 2000 inj
twin 450 pumps
borg s476 with 92 mm wheel
e85

i spent a lot of time on the dyno yesterday and made 730 on 17 psi, 806 on 20 psi, and 844 on 22ish psi, we were going to keep going but called it quits, i think this thing would have been north of 900 on 25ish and just kept going but its only speculation.

Valves floating?

I think those are great numbers considering the parts used and boost level. Throw some valve springs on that sucker and it would make more power higher in the RPM's.

i put valve springs in it last week. i went back to the dyno two nights ago and retuned it. didnt pick up alot of power but the motor runs way smoother through the RPMs and the tune was waaay off with the valve springs in. no matter what we tried it just wouldnt pick up in the higher rpms. i could throw more boost at it and of course it would make more power (linearly) but id have to make so many other changes (fuel type etc) its not worth it. the car weighs 2800 lbs so its a rocket with 600WHP. a set of 243s and a cam would easily put this thing close to 700WHP but im not ready to chance losing the motor. the car is simply too much fun to drive to chance it.
