Well I tried for the record this past Thursday. If some of you aren't familiar w my setup, basically Garrett 47-88 w race cover, dart pro1 heads, 225-229 cam, Neal chance, rossler400, moser 9" with 3.00's.

Previously made 868 at 6700rpm, 26#s and 21* of timing.
This time we didn't even really get to fully tune it before it pushed water. the best pull we made was only to 5100rpms and only 10* of timing and it made almost 900 wheel.

Really disappointed it didn't stay together, ended up knocking a piston out later the next day. We were well on the way to over 1kwhp thru a heavy drivetrain and unlocked converter. Idk if a 5.3 will be going back in it but this one was fun while it lasted.

What kind of dyno did you make that number on? I made 683whp on a dyno dymanics thru a unlocked glide. 20psi, 15.5° timing, and a cheap ebay a2a with 151° IAT.

Ran 8.76@156 in the 1/4 and 5.66@127mph in the 1/8th with 2880 race weight in my Nissan 240sx.

If I put mine on a dyno jet it will make 850whp easily with the shitty ebay a2a. Also a $50 LS1 intake.....

Also, a little used $550 BW S475 with the tiny 74/83 turbine wheel.

The dyno queen numbers are pointless IMO. Even though I am lighter by 500lbs look at the diff in HP vs ET and trap speed with me and LS1NOVA.

8.76@156 with 683whp Dyno Dynamics

9.53@150 with 954whp guessing dyno jet

I didn't dyno at LSfest but I would have made 850ish whp there easily. ShorTunings ZR1 made 650whp on his dyno dynamics and made 813whp at LSfest on a 90° day thru a heat soaked SC. I made 683 on the same dyno he made 650 on.

Guess I will head to a dyno jet and get me a dyno queen number. Or I can meet your 5.3L car at the track and show you the tail lights....

no offense, but track numbers dont hold any more weight than dyno numbers. some cars aernt setup for the track but would waste you from a roll. power gives a better idea of how fast a car is, ive seen 8-900 hp cars barely breaking 11s, but ive never seen a car that makes 400, make 700 on a dyno. dyno dont lie, track does.

Dyno's do lie tho, corrections, locking converter, airing up tires, removing belt, etc etc, lots of "dyno tricks" out there people do. In the end, if you don't really make the power, the car won't mph.

yea you can fudge 50-60hp, im saying there are cars that go 11s that actually could go 8s, i havent seen cars dyno 1100 that actually make 800. just cant make it THAT much of a lie. and "corrections" are usually used to correct, but if theyre not doing so and dynoing in good conditions, its actually what it would make on the steet anyhow, so idk if thats really a lie.

Those cars better have some serious mph. If a 3500lb car claims 850rwhp and traps 137 I'm not buying the dyno number. It better be closer to 150.

Congrats, your cooler than me...

How about we meet at a dragstrip, an autox, and a road course and average the times?
