Is that a brand new turbo, looks like it was bathed in oil then wiped down. I'm looking into one of these turbos as well but for the price I'd expect a cleaner unit! Our builds are very similar good luck can't wait to see results-

Because a 76 or an 80 will choke the motor at 5000rpms. A 408 needs to breath. Yes a smaller turbo will probably spool quicker, but it will run out of steam way early. I have the same motor and same turbo setup.

Honestly man....didn't notice your displacement before I opened my flapper

I would definitely go to a plan-B for those headers though. Those are important.

Heres a few more pictures..... I said to hell with the AC again!!! so I will be just using Truck manifolds. I did the K-member today! It was the easiest crap I have done ever lol..... The only bad thing is that I was sent the wrong K-member!!! I didnt realize it until It was in the car!!! The problem is it is for the manual steering rack. So Im having to make my own mounts because I will not be waiting on another one to come. Its almost boost time and Im not going backwards!!

good stuff man. Glad to get some updates. Sucks about the kmember. I caught major hell with mine simply trying to get the a-arms mounted on them. They just would not go on there. Wish i was around to get dirty too.

Say no to the truck manifolds. Don't take the easy way out. When you are driving around sweating your butt off you will regret it.

I sorta got used to driving around with no shirt on during the day and a big bag of ice under me..... no the heat does suck. but when you have more than one car but not an ever growing budget... you start thinking about truck manifolds a little more.

dont worry about them manifolds. make work, get it going, work out the bugs, a/c is for ****** and change what you want later. so many over the top builds get out of hand and put off, and it always starts with headers....

Its not even the manifolds issue. its the down pipe! Finding room to run the down pipe sucks..... I dont want to crush or oval the pipe to make it fit. I just decided to run the down pipe where he Ac compressor would be. Ill be ok with out A/C. I survived the extreme heat of Iraq so Ill be good here in Texas!

Relocate the the alternator then with the turbo k member you have you will have more than enough room.
