Are you happy with the idle? Does it drive well and is it tuned yet? I think it sounds great!

Idle is great, idles at 750rpms and has good off idle response. Drives well with tune I have but just needs minor tweaks. Sounds almost exactly like the N/A cam I pulled out. So far I am very happy now I just need to tweak tune and turn on boost controller to 15psi.

what would you recommend for a blow thru 76mm 5.3 power glide with a 38-4000 stall in a 3000lb car?

The cam I specified for you has half the overlap his cam does so it will be smoother. I could make it even smoother than that, but most of my customers with turbo cars their main request is to give them something that still hits at idle while not being detrimental to the system as a whole.

Good, I'm glad the cam meets your requirements that you laid out. I'm sure the N/A cam had a little more chop to it, but for that turbo that's the maximum amount of overlap I'd run with it. It should make awesome power though and peak right where we discussed it should.

It will depend on the turbo you're using along with a few other parameters. I would do a custom grind that matches the rest of your set-up. I can have a custom cam ground in 1-2 business days and be on your doorstep in 4-7 business days total after ordering. If you want, you can send me a PM with your email address and I'll get some more information from you regarding your set-up.

This is our LS2 Stage 2 Turbo cam. It used to be a custom grind I did for guys with 75mm and smaller turbine's on stock stroke engines. It became popular and works very well on a restrictive turbo set-up where back pressure can be an issue while still keeping that choppy idle all the turbo guys want, but thought they couldn't have before.

Specs are 234/231 .61x"/.59x" 114+4

Thanks for the reply! What cam would you suggest for a stock bottom end lq4? Stock intake/tb, heads, and a 85mm MAF. Kit I have is a single front mount with a 70mm turbo. My power goals are 550 to 600 to the tires. If you need more info than that please let me know. Thanks for your help!

Martin, would you mind firing me over a PM with your thoughts on a spec'd cam for an S475 - JY5.3L 862s with Tooley springs, 2.25" hotside, as large as I can get away with DP with Bullet muffler split to two 3" tails with Magnaflows?

Reason I am asking is because I had a LS9 cam laying around from a previous abandoned build so I will be stabbing it in there for now. I am seriously considering getting a cam from you first and not even mess with the LS9 cam.

Again, JY5.3L that will have a 3.73 gear with 28inch tire, 4L80e 3600 Yank Triple Disc. Would like to limit RPM to ~6500 if I can avoid it. I want this thing to sound very docile until I get into it and then the turbo gets to work.

I appreciate your thoughts!

Dave

Dave,

What is the size of the turbine wheel and AR housing that you're using?
