just a cheap build. havent driven this thing since sept 2011.
With that cam I highly recommend a pt7675 or a t-netics 7675.

I have 4 stage one cams!!! Lol can you be a little more specific? This is another reasons why I ask any forced induction customers to call me with their set up, or intentions for their set up before purchasing a cam. I have many shelf grinds that all have different intended applications.

If you think there is much to improve I will most likely see what the best I can do a few boost levels and swap out the cam for some real world track results.

I prefer smoothest idle possible while still being able to spool the turbo and make good power. It generally comes on slow without using a transbrake.

At the Track: Turbo Camaro SS 10.40 @ 142 Mph - YouTube
I will have to say yes you are with the size of your cam and your engine being a 370. I also dislike lsl lobes for boost, especially a turbo set up. I would definitely believe with a more application specific cam you will go faster.

Hey Martin,

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I am actually migrating over to a JY5.3L (for now) Procharged F1A. Right now I have the LS9 Cam but want some that has more meat to it but NOT a really super choppy idle. Drivability is really important to me and I may actually downgrade to a D1SC with helical gearset for volume control.

Vital Stats:

5.3L with 862 heads
F1A head unit, shooting for low 10s, high 9s
Pump gas on the road, race at the track
Drivability is key
Figuring on 28inch tire at the track or really close to that
3.73 rear gear
4L80e tranny
Edelbrock Super Victor with 95-deg elbow...Edelbrock Throttle Body Likely.
Tooley valve springs
3480 lbs w/driver.

I am shooting for 6500rpm shifts...

Drag radial tire likely...

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

Most likely a custom cam would be best for your more unique application, but I may have a good shelf cam to do the job. If you can send me an email to martin@tick-performance.com I'll get you squared away.

Martin, I spoke with you last fall about having a cam spec'd out and ran into some problems with my shortblock. I sent you an email so we can get this cam spec'd out and ordered up.

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff! How have you been my friend? Hope all is well. I responded to your email just now so check that whenever you get a chance. I included a new spec sheet for you to complete.

Been meaning to post this clip for everyone. This is a short video I grabbed during a tuning session. This is a Tick Performance Stage 2 turbo cam, I could not be happier with the results of this cam

Default cam concerns

hello. concerning turbo cams. I want a streetable cam- wouldn't be dailydriven.
Still trying to decide on turbo. Its going to be something like a pt7675, s480. something under the 80mm
right now Im building lq4. Stock internals. Arp heads studs. Mls gaskets-new top-end gaskets. 95 pound injectors. 160gph pump. E85.
Looking to put 750+ to the ground- would this be a realistic goal?
Any advice on a cam would be much appreciated.
thanks

There is a big difference between a camshaft meant for a 6.0 with a PT7675 than a 6.0 with a S480 T6 1.32/96mm wheel.

What exhaust do you have?

Martin,

I have a 4.8/T56 in my 99 SS. Looking for a good cam to go along with my Huron Speed truck kit. Stock heads with new MLS gaskets and studs. Most likely going to run a Vic Jr. I'm looking at TC76 or the 78. Or possibly a PT7675 if funds allow. Running 91 Oct here in Cali and meth if needed. Something with the idle in the vid I quoted would be awesome.

Looking to purchase one of your can kits. Would you suggest one of your off the shelf or a custom cam? Need something that will work well with the 6spd. Driveability isn't to much of a concern.

Hey Martin here are the specs on the On3 70mm turbo that I am running in a twins set-up. Since I run twins mine is the .68 exhaust AR
Cold Side:

Compressor Wheel 70mm
.70 a/r
4” Inlet and 2.5” Compressor Outlet
Inducer- 70.15mm
Exducer- 94mm

Exhaust Side:

Exhaust Housing T-4 Flanged Divided
Available in 2 A/R sizes - .68 or 1.0
3.0" Vband outlet
Inducer- 64.5mm
Exducer-

360 degree Thrust Bearing

For those who don't know. My car has been a best of 6.04 at 114mph. It is a daily driver 1969 Chevelle. I think I am at a max of what is possible with my set up so I am going to bite the bullet and Martin is going to do a custom cam for me to see if we can get in the 5's. My current combo is an L33 completely stock with Tick Custom Cam, better pushrods, stock lifters, stock oil pump, LS2 chain, KMJ headstuds, LS9 headgaskets, E85, Air 2 air intercooler, PG, 3.42's, 275 DR's. Car is 3680 with me in it. We have been going back and forth several times and have spoke in length on the phone. I felt he deserves a chance to try and get this heavy beast in the 5's. My car has never seen a trailer to any track. I have had to rent a uhaul for the ride home sometimes. lol I am looking forward to seeing your magic.

Rob,

That cam has 5 degrees of overlap, yours has 4. They will sound VERY similar if not identical! Just how you wanted it right?

With a 4.8 and a PT7675/Turbonetics 7675 or 7875 (I highly recommend these over the TC series and if you can swing the PT7675 with a .81 AR housing for the 6 speed you'd be IN BUSINESS), Vic jr. on 91 octane this is the camshaft profile I'd recommend if the car was full weight with a 3.23-3.55 rear gear:

278/286@.006"
226/231@.050"
147/149@.200"
113LSA 107ICL 119ECL

226/231 .605"/.598" 113+6

Thanks for the kind words Delbert. Mark my words WE WILL get that ride of yours in the 5's and I think you will be VERY surprised just how deep into the 5's I make you push it....

With a little more suspension tweaking, new camshaft and some help with the tuning after installing the intercooler you'll be on your way to 5.70's my friend!

How much would I be loosing on the top end with the .81ar vs the .96? Car will be full weight. I need to pick up a new rear end for it at the moment so in your opinion 3.23 or 3.42s? Also I was told to use the Vic Jr for better low end for a full weight 6spd street car. I was considering the pro flo. I'll be giving you a call as soon as I'm ready to buy a cam ! It'll b my last purchase to make sure it fits everything I have.

No problem. I am counting on it being consistent in the 5's and daily driven. It doesn't get much better than that....at least not in a heavy *** chevelle.
