Shawn's 4L80 that was apparently sold to pat is still sitting in my garage. I think bill @ elma has one he's selling me. They also know a guy that builds them locally so I will probably do that.

I'm in no rush now, i took the plates off it for the winter. I think I am going to do a bigger cam and larger injectors as well this winter.

3.27 + 28" tire
65mph is a little over 2500rpm

But IIRC he wants overdrive still I think?
You having a 28" tall tire/wheel setup kills the rpm's too though. The taller tire setup knocks down the gear quite a bit, which lowers rpms.

That's probably why you only tach out at 2500 rpm's.

The od auto's also have a lower first gear and more gear spread to help the mileage too and keep the car in the powerband.

That's why a lot of the OEM car manufacturers are going to more gears in the transmissions now. The New Hellcat has 8 speeds, the New C7 and Z06's have eight, there are 9 speeds coming out and a ten speed in the works too.

Once again, just my opinion.

LOL - You mean my tire/gear ration has something to do with my cruising rpm?

Thanks brotato. Get to work making a 20 speed.

As always, Just my opinion.

Actually, the tire height does effect cruising rpm quite a bit. 3.27 gears with a 28" tall tire isn't bad at all though. I use to cruise all over in my 70 Chevelle with a 4.10 gear and a 28 tall tire. Those damn Flowmasters would resonate me right out of the car on long trips though!

I think if OP is going auto just use the TH350 in the T/A since it is a heavier car and he already has it and get a PG for the Mustang since it should be lighter and more track oriented, unless of course he is set on getting a 4L80E which would also be a great option.

Just my opinion.

Are there really people on here that do not know that tire height change cruising rpm? We can't really be discussing this.

I have to say I like this car over the mustang build and even though some people think the auto is less fun, with a nice stall itll move a bit better.

off topic, the last few posts have been entertaining and should continue, that is all

Lol, I didn't catch the sarcasm in the first post until I just re-read it. That's what I get for skimming through posts.
