If your car only weighs 3000-3100-why not just a 4L60E?
You get the best of both worlds-and when you want to go fast-put it in 2nd and you have an instant glide.
My RPM 60 has never broke once in 6 years of abuse.

I'm a little afraid of a 60e to say the least. Not too many success stories of them surviving in high HP builds. That said I have no first hand experience with one so my opinion is just that. Also if I was gonna spend the money on a built 60e I'd rather go with an 80e

Hands down the glide works great on the street. Most who say do a th400 and not the glide haven't even ever had a glide to compare to, especially in a turbo car with a tight converter the glide works great. My glide 3800+ lb turbo car drives better than any of my th400 nitrous setups ever did. The ONLY time the glide is different than the th400 IMO is right off the light, on a hill, but its not bad at all IMO compared to the th400.
3800+ lbs, 2.73's, glide, 27" tire, 1.5 60ft on STREET TIRES, and works GREAT on the street.

Been there done that. Glides are fine. Had 3:31 gear in my car and it was no slouch. Car can be seen in TX2K11 DVD- silver turbo fox. Just make sure you have a good cooler.

I'll use my rx7 as an example(since my ltd doesn't have a tach). In the rx7 I could drive all over town and never get above 2000rpm, even agressive driving I could stay under 2500rpm, get on highway and it would turn around 2200rpm. My camaro with a pt4400 converter and 4l60e didn't drive that nice IMO.

But sounds very close to what I'm going for in bucket.
