i would say swap out those 918s before they break and ruin your motor

and then just have someone tune it and kick the **** out if it and decide what you wanna do next

8.6:1 I would take them off and put a nice set of ported 5.3 heads on it.
I had a 5.3 with 317's and it sucked.....such a dog off boost. And i couldnt imagine driving one with a stick.... I had a 4000 stall.

REALLY?? I thought the 918's were more than sufficient for an ls6 cam.
But I didn't put it together and am new to 5.3's and turbos.

Don't have e85 where I'm at so it'll be pump gas(93), plan on running 15 lbs. bob I already have a 2000 Z with a th400 and my srt8 is an auto too so this one will rarely see the track, it'll be my Mexico car.

I dont think there is anything wrong with 918s especially with a ls6 cam.I have them on my close to .600 lift comp cam with no issues. I think he might be thinking about the older 918s that had an issue breaking due to impropper manufacturing i think it was but that was quite a few years ago. as far as im aware that problem is long gone. I wouldnt worry about them.

Lol ok i want quite sure. Well to answer his question boosted cars respond well to ported heads. The more airflow the better. $200 shipped. All valves are there and one exhaust bolt is broken off intothe head.

If you're going to buy the 706 5.3L heads, make sure they're not the Castech castings. They are prone to cracking. I read about the problem after I sent my heads to the machine shop, and I unfortunately have them.

Lol sorry bro, not all 706 heads are Castech castings. You can tell by looking for their logo inside the head, under the rocker assembly. It's a little box with a pointed side. If you google Castech 706 heads, it sould pull up more info.
