Just an update. Turns out the motor was "built" but the rings were gapped so tight they ruined the pistons. New motor build underway with new pistons and new cam and rings properly gapped

sorry for such a late response Br1 ss, but im running a magnafuel 4301. Also, just an update, Rotating assembly is at the machine shop getting balanced, cranks also getting polished. Got my new snow meth kit and ported 5.3 heads with 2.02/1.570 valves. Also have my new cam on the way spec'd exactly for my setup based off my head flow numbers and everything else. Should do ALOT better then the previous TU1 cam.

Snow meth kit:

My new ported 5.3 heads, nothing crazy just mild port job

Sounds like you're getting back on your way. Setbacks suck!

What are the cam specs? I've got a similar build going...

Its based off my entire setup, and from my head flow chart from .100 lift to .650 lift. It should work out great.

Nice! Yeah, seems pretty big! Hope it works out well for you. I think it will.

I'm going to be running a 4.8 with ported stock 706 heads with 2.0in intake valves. The cam I'm looking at is a 228/234 .585 lift with 114 LSA. Probably with an On3 76 ball bearing turbo (Front Mount this time) on a 72 Camaro. Similar cam to the one spec'd for you, but just a little smaller than yours. But you're running a 5.3 so your cam should be good for the extra cubes.

Thanks man, I'll give Nasty Nate a call after the holidays and ask him about the kit he sells.

Howcome you didn't go with the twin intank pumps? Also, Which Snow Meth kit did you go with?

I didnt want the hassle of a second pump, wiring up the mp4301 was simple. the 4301 is enough to cover up to 1k horsepower, so its more then enough! The snow kit i got was the stage 1.
