Why would they make an expensive aftermarket forged crank rated at 600hp when the stock unforged crank is handling way more power than 600... good luck man. Definitely report to us what you find.

Also, im.starting to think that maybe the shortblock wasn't an issue at all. Its very strange the tyranny AND motor went out at the same time... Im agreeing with what some of these guys are saying. I think when the tranny took a **** it pushed the crank forward into the thrust bearing causing it to fail. Would you agree?
the crank that's in your motor is the one I cracked. be careful

I bet it knocked the thrust out.

How did u crack it?.. im not worried about it. Callies way under rates their stuff and there are tons and tons of ppl making huge power on those cranks without issue. I think you just had a defective crank. Stock cranks r good for 800+..

im still with martin on that... its just very very odd the engine went within a few hundred miles of the tranny... low oil pressure, copper in the oil.

Damn man, hope by some miracle you can get it back up and running for KC2K13! I read one of your previous posts about getting a junkyard shortblock instead, I agree that should've been your choice! It's a proven setup. Do you plan to keep the AES shortblock once it's back to life?

I will also vote for the trans failing/ or converter ballooning and taking out the thrust. Seen it a lot in the past.

All is well then. Atleast PTC is stepping up to fix what they did wrong and hopefully you can get everything sorted out with AES.

Glad to hear your misfortune is working itself out.

If the tranny is the cause of the engine failure via thrust bearing, is PTC going to buy you a rotating assembly and pay for the damages?

Even with the guys at PTC being as stand up as they are, there are way too many variables for them to still be able to pony up a new rotating assembly for Stangkillr. I hate this happened to him as I love his videos and his cars.

Good luck with all of this.

Got the motor out. Thrust bearing is toast. Kind of makes sense with all the play the transmission had from the missing thrust washers.
