Default Need help on some steel cable ties please.

So i am getting ready to heat wrap my hot side but can't find the SS cable ties i want to hold it in place. I used some on my dads STI's down pipe but can't seem to find any except the smooth ones from the local parts stores, he has no idea who made the ones we used on his car.

Im looking for the SS multilock or SS ladder style cable ties. The ones that have the little slots in them ever coule mm or so and lock as you pull the tie through like a zip tie...

Thanks in advance.

What I do is use the stainless ties from CV boots, you can get them at most parts stores and they sell a tool so you can tighten them..

Home Depot. Pack of 10 is like $5 and you don't need special tool to lock them in. They work like a regular tie wrap.

Yes i have a harbor frieght close to me but no those are the ones i hate, they look just like them but have little slots all the way up and use little hooks in the top to lock it as you pull it through, only place i can seem to find them is online and from japan and they sell by the box which has 25 packs off 100 in them.

I use stainless steel bailing wire. Once you learn the correct way to twist it and fold the twist over it doesnt leave a snag and is much tighter

I know how to use bailing wire but unless that is my last option just like hose clamps i would prefer not to go that route.

I think Band-It makes the majority of these type of stainless steel cable ties.

http://www.band-it-idex.com/en/produ...s%20Index.html

I've used a few types, and the ball type doesn't seem to tighten up like some of the others, due to how the little ball wedges when the strap pulls back.

So after alot of phone calls and a ton of searching i found them..

I had a 45min phone call with summit and they told me out right that they do not have the clamps im looking for, they said they called DEI and a couple other companies and nothing.. So i called a local speed shop and the owner told me who made them and this is what i found!!

Just curious (for my own knowing... ) Is there any particular reason you don't like the smooth ones? Do they not hold? Thnx.

The smooth ones don't hold tension at all. We sell them where I work and I won't recommend them to customers because of my own experience with them. They use a ball that wedges in the end when the tie is pulled back. They tend to have about 1/16" of play once you pull them tight. They're not very good for automotive applications in my opinion.
