wow. I cant imagine not being able to hear the blower or it not making sound. My d1 was ear piercingly loud. My f1 im sure will be even worse. The sound of the air going thru the bypass is pretty loud too.

Here is my old '99 Camaro which had a 408 with an F-1A. It had a powerglide with a 5000 stall that we were driving through, which is why the mph was so low. It had a Moser M9 with 3.70 gears, and 325/50R15 M/T drag radials. Bob

Going to be installing a new BOV in a week or two. Interested to see what difference it makes in sound. I can hear the blower itself well but it's not crazy loud...yet.

Turbo's are not for the recreational beginner. Unless you mean business, don't go there. Prochargers on the other hand are very user friendly and economical.

Also, turbo's are not free power adders. They are also parasitic just like a supercharger, just not as bad because they are not directly coupled. I have seen pressures build to over 60 psi on the turbine side of racing turbos! This is pressure directly opposing piston travel on the exhaust stroke, so it is not free energy.

Finally, even if you are talented enough to fabricate your own headers and plumbing, the procharger would still be cheaper to do even if you don't count your labor as an expense. Don't kid yourself guys. Come on.

I love how turbos are not reliable even though they are the choice of FI for oem apps

Imports and diesels maybe when production cost is a major concern

heres how i look at it.

turbos
big single= king dick power.best on the track can be lagy on the street.

twins= less lagy but can still make big power, alittle harder to package on some cars, good street race/just all around fast/fun car

super chargers= best driving experience, power on demand less over all power, best if you like twisty back/mountain roads

this is not the hard fast rule but it seems mostly true based on my experience. it not to say that you cant do one with the other but they have there best suited rolls

Stock stall stock gears. Nothing really to be proud of but it was a demonstration of how a turbo sounds.
