The turbo did come in today. Below are some pics after a quick clean up. It was just rebuilt at PTE, no run time, so its ready to go.

Nothing quite like having a compressor inlet that you can stick your fist into!!!

The power potential that turbo is capable of making is absolutely ridiculous. That turbo has the capability of propelling this car into the 4.60@155mph range with the right tune, suspension settings and converter.

I foresee a very sluggish 60' in your future with that intake on this combo. You should nick name it the Torque Stopper. Runners are too short and it has too much plenum volume.

Seriously? Have you read this thread for ***** and giggles? I know it's the internet and just conversation, but there is some really interesting information being tossed around in there.

I guess I'll find out. What would be a sluggish 60' in your opinion? With the stock 6.0L last yr (I know totally different ballpark but...) and the 25yr old stock susp and ATR rear sway bar the car did a 1.37 60' running 10.2's.

BTW, susp revamp will come this year (after engine is in and running), first before any passes I'm adding an anti-roll bar.

Torque stopper??? Am I missing something in this thread? This BMF machine should be able to straight knock the tires off at the hit! We run a short huge runner in comparison with the drag car and can kill the tires at will (35x17.5x16).

BMF I do not think you will have any issue with the stock coils and ECU. Should work good IMO.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I really wasn't sure about the stock coils & PCM. I was told it wasn't going to work so many times, I planned on giving it hell trying to prove them wrong.

What plugs would you suggest starting with? NGK 9's? What Gap?

thanks in advance.

I like the 9s to about 1500hp so you will be fine there, I run .020-.024 with square truck coils. Also I have made 2000hp with two engines now on the square truck coils on Alky and about 1850 on E98.

Martin, I just noticed your question about the going rate of 106mm's now days. I must have totally over-looked it. I am always watching for turbos, 106's have been sold for $800 to 1300 in the past 9 months. Pretty crazy price for what you get if your able to make one work.

That's a damn good price for a 2000+rwhp capable turbocharger.

Only thing I can figure is demand. How many people need and can properly use/spool a 106mm turbo? Heck my 98/101mm in all reality is bigger than I need but the price was right. 88mm and smaller gets pricey until you get down to or below a 70mm in the used market. All these v8's that now have turbos on them in the past 10yrs or so have blown the demand sky high on that range of turbo, hence driving the price up on used units. I think the main reason you see 98mm to 106mm's cheap anymore Is for two reasons; One most classes are limited to 88 mm and smaller turbos, And two most of the turbos in this area are an older design.

Lil update, waiting on rotating assemble to get balanced before any more progress happens. The Moran 500's should be ready early March I'm told so I guess no real hurry but still be nice to get everything in the car and start fabbing the add-on to the hot side and Alky sys too. In due time I suppose.
