Default Help me choose a turbo.

hey guys...im knew in the FI game, so my knowledge is limited on this.. I just got a turbo kit about a week ago, and now im looking for a turbo. I came across a good deal on a turbo with the current specs (74mm compressor/94mmturbin. T-6 flange 1.34 a/r) but im also looking at this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Bo...d196f7&vxp=mtr. What would you guys recommend? The kit is gonna go on a stock bottom end Ls1 with high comp and a water meth kit. let me know what you think. thanks in advance.

That same turbo listed on ebay can be had for $649 at Forcedinductions.com. It's the S475 with 96mm Turbine on a T6 flange. Great turbo, good for some big horsepower. What kind of setup are you planning to run? Injectors, fuel, stall, gearing, etc.

big turbo for stock internals, you would probably do better with spool and could go cheaper with an ebay gt45 or t76. Is your set up for t6? is that why youre looking at this turbo or is it t4 and you are looking to upgrade it to t6? I guess it really depends on what your goals are.

The car is currently set up for nitrous.
Stock ls1 short block
AFR heads
Fast 102 intake
4:11 gears (which i will change to 3:55 or 3:43 when i do the turbo)
current stall is a circle D 4800 nitrous stall( which ill change as well)
~11:5.1 compression

what i had plan is to run the turbo on low boost with e85 and a meth kit while i build a 6.0 block i already have to a 408.

As for the fuel im thinking dual in tanks with e85? and im not sure on injectors yet, any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

To answer the other question, the reason im looking at those turbos is because my kit is set up for a t6 turbo, it actually was set up for a gt45/55.

My goal for the car is to make 1000+ RWHP to get into the 8's down the road, so i would like a turbo, which will allow me to grow as i upgrade the motor and fuel system. let me know what you think and thanks again for the help.

Jose at forced induction could get you headed in the right direction. There's alot of different ways to go and you'll get a lot of different opinions. I always just call Jose and he gets me headed in the right direction. good luck.

Man, if you're seriously building that kind of setup to go 8's, get the inexpensive S475 for now, build the new setup, and go from there. S488 would be a good selection at 1000rwhp in most setups.
