Wastegate size help on turbo swap, boost creep?
I currently have a 5.3/eBay gt45 combo with a tial 38mm wastegate and holds 8-9 psi just fine on a 8-9 psi spring. I also have a 3" dp and soon to be 3.5" straight pipe out back. I'll be upgrading to a pt7675cea and I want to run the same 8-9 psi for now. Will the 38mm tial be big enough?
The gt45 has a pretty big turbine already (77ex/87.4in/1.05a/r) and the pt's turbine is a tad smaller. So do I need to worry about boost creep by swapping to a turbo with a slightly smaller turbine, when bigger turbine turbo works fine? Does the compressor side come into play with boost creep?

I would have to agree...The 38mm Tial should be fine for now. If you had an ebay wastegate I would definitely upgrade to a 44mm tial at least. We had a 38mm ebay wastegate with a 70mm turbo as one of our initial setups on a 2000 Trans Am and boost creep did it in. Definitely put some money into wastegates.
