My Build 96 Impala SS
Hey while I am new to the forum I have been poking around here for a while and have gotten alot of ideas and information. I am currently in the last stages of my own build and thought I would officially become a member and share what I have done to my own 96 Impala SS. I bought the car with as LS1 conversion done by Mallet's out of OHIO. Here is what I have done to the car since I bought it...
448CI Stroker
LS6 Darton MID Sleeved Block 4.165 Bore
Manley 4130 Forged 4.125 Stroke Crankshaft
Manley Forged H-Beam Rods with L19 Rod Bolts
Clevite HC Engine Bearings
Cometic MLS Head Gaskets .052
Dart Pro 1 Stage 4 Ported Cylinder Heads 63.5CC combustion Chambers 338 CFM at .650 2.08/1.6 SS Pro Flow undercut Valves and 5 angle valve job.
Manley Forged 2618 Dished Pistons 29cc dish
8.9:1 Compression Ratio
DX7R Camshaft 246/254 .645/.640
Ported LS6 Throttle Body and Match Ported LS6 Intake Manifold
F1C Procharger with Custom Intercooler
Edelbrock Spider Manifold
100MM Throttle Body
All the work was done by the guys at Colorado Speed and Performance. Car goes in Tuesday (2/26) and will receive:
Moser 9" Rear Differential Powder coated with center section.
1/8" sheet of steel to rebuild frame rails
UMI Performance Adjustable Extended Length Lower Control
Arms
UMI Performance Adjustable Extended Length Upper Control
Arms
RPM 1000 hp 4L80E transmission (Level 6)
3200 stall torque converter
TCI Flexplate 4L80E to LS
PCS Transmission controller.
Drive shaft.
CIA tubular cross member for 4l80E conversion
LSX LS7 heads
Lower intake manifold (Edelbrock to match new heads)
Head gaskets
LS7 exhaust rockers
LS7 intake Rockers
LS7 rocker arm bolts
Pushrods
Injector Dynamics 90LB
Spintech mufflers304 stainless (3441xl) 3" center
Headers Hedman 2" primary Black ceramic coating (HED-45533)
3" X-pipe 304 stainless
Flip Drive/8 RIB

Here are a few parts that showed up today. I will post pics as parts show up and as soon as work starts.

RPM level 6 4L80E, Precision Industries 3 disc 3800 stall converter, and PCS transmission controller. Spintech Sportsman 3" stainless steel mufflers. Tear down starts monday with pics to follow!!!!

Old diff out. New Moser 9" in with extended length UMI upper and lower control arms. Old 2.5" exhaust out. RPM 4L80E test fit and WOW!!! fits pretty well, a little massage here and there it will fit just fine. The new 3" exhaust should fit really nice with the tubular 4L80E crossmember.

RPM 4L80E is in and after a little tunnel work fit is perfect. All the blower and accessories removed and looks like we have some extra work to install the A/C. New LSX LS7 heads are next as soon as the porting is done.

Good luck on the build, the car definitely looks like a hell of a beast. I'm building my stroker for mine as we speak. I'm about 40ci short of you though lol.
