Default Props to ForcedInductions.com (Dr. Turbo)

Not only did they quote me a great price to upgrade my S475 to a billet S480, I sent it to them and they received it on Monday. I called today and they've already got it apart and machined, just waiting for the billet wheel then it'll get balanced and sent on back. For anyone out there who is thinking about this upgrade I've got nothing but good things to say thus far. Hell, they actually answer their phone, that's a rarity in this business it seems!

Ran a 5.67 on the s475 with the gates pinned shut on a 370 w/stock heads on 93+meth, can't wait to see what the FI billet S480 can do!

Interested to see some results with the new piece. Should be good. What are you expecting some 5.3s or better?

its all gonna depend on if i want to stay on 93 pump + meth. if i start running some c16 i know i can obviously push it further.

5.67 isn't too bad for a car that is driven to the track in race trim with a/c, radio, etc. the little 75 was just running out of steam and dr. turbo made me a deal i couldn't refuse.

I cant wait to see how much it picks up. The car is fly now so after you test it on pump /meth I would go right to the C16. I did the whole pump /meth thing almost 20 years ago long before they even had kits for it and its cool but it can also bite you. I would go for the C16 and turn it up. Your car is going to be a monster on the good stuff.

I've seen some big numbers from that little 80mm wheel. I'm thinking of trying the S488 next. Working on making some space.

I could be wrong but I've heard the billet 80 or 83 flows more than the 88 hybrid.

Can't wait to get this ****** bolted up!

ya think, lol. There are many race cars that are trailered to the track that dont run that.

Thanks, I guess you just lose sight of things cause no matter what you're never the fastest. I am almost always the fastest car that doesn't arrive on a trailer though! I really can't wait till I can try out this new turbo.

My s10 ran 5.70's and was gutted and backhalved and sprayed a bunch of nitrous on it. It was trailered to the track, lol. A few years ago 8's were fast, now they seem to be the norm. You car is definately impressive if you drive it to the track and with ac, then back home.

Surprised that's all you could get out of the s475. Intrested to see how much you pick up with the billet 80.

I just did a little more research on the S488 last night and I'm not impressed. I'm back on the fence after seeing that it's pretty much a lateral move from the PT88. That is not my objective. I need something that makes another 300 hp over what I got or I'm not gonna go thru the effort to switch it over.

ya, i hear about people going faster with the 75's, but most of them are not street cars with a/c and interior, etc. i might have been able to squeeze a little more out with a better converter, but for the cost of this upgrade it was the best option for me!

Not all 488's are created equal. Some companies are building versions of the unit using the 7 blade TV series 88 wheel and plugged stock cover. Same basic wheel as the PT88 BTW. Its not going to pick up big power due to the turbine wheel alone. The version we build uses the race cover and uses the HP88 6 blade design. Flows very nicely and has made big #'s for years now. We have seen power #'s in the 1050-1250rwhp ranges on many LS based motors.

Yeah the 475 on one of our customers car has been high 5.3X's. But they are real street purpose built cars. Our BW476R on a customers car has been 5.2's and as of last year it was the fastest real street turbo car. This year we plan to push some new #'s with some new stuff. . I will say we will be pushing to break into the 4.9's with a 76 this year.

I'd have gone with the 76 if I thought I was going to run in some type of class, but I just want the maximum head space to grow into.
