I had the sleeve, hone job, and balancing of the crank done by Rettig Brothers in Modesto. First time I have used them, but very pleased with everything they did.

I have used Renu several times for my honda stuff, always very good work. Reddic seems to be quite a bit cheaper though. They did say they do quite a few ls engines, although the work I had done wasn't ls specific.

I've got the same turbo about to go in an l33. I'm actually taking a break from swapping the cams now, what flange did you use though? I'll go back and look at pics of the merge but I'm a little lost on making two 2" pipes come together and make a rectangle. Lol

LOVE this car!

If you have the car running now, please give a cheap water/meth injection system a try before you upgrade your turbo and put in a a2w, the water/meth works GREAT, and the higher your IATs are, sort of the better the water/meth works in a sense.

I'm so interested to see what you can do with the GT45 and no intercooler if you max out the setup with some more cheap hotrodding!!

I pulled the trigger and ordered a china vertical flow intercooler, the 10" core one. Looks identical to the treadstone 500 dollar one but it's only 200. I have heard rumors that the treadstone cores are no different than the normal ebay stuff. I'm hoping the vertical core will have very little pressure drop, allowing me to get a tick more out of the gt45. This was the cheapest route for me and wont add any more stuff to worry about on the car.

Teaser of some street action in mexico before I hurt the motor. Had it working pretty good on the little 8.5" slick.

Got a link to the IC you ordered? I ordered a treadstone IC to try out. Heavy stout units for sure. Mine was 34lbs! Has flow dividers built into the end tanks and was a much better quality core than my Ebay IC was. Haven’t installed it yet.

Need to grab you one of those new $390 78/75 On3 turbos… That gt45’s compressor has to be out of steam.

I hear you on the turbo, definitely on the list, hopefully I can at least get back to the same power a little safer with the intercooler for now.

This is the one I ordered, should fit my car perfectly.

I used one like that before and I thought it performed well.

Ok so I've read though this whole thread and didn't see it or I missed it all together. Besides your converter and your rear mount trans coolers, what has been done to the transmission?

I bought it used off craigslist. It was an old TCI "streetfighter" which seemed to be a basically stock rebuild with a few upgrades. Mine still has full auto shift but won't automatically up shift if you leave it in low or second. Most of the time it just get raced in drive lol.

Good to know. I'm real excited to get my lq4/th400/72mm turbo into my nova. I always see you lurking on rhmt but never posting over there. My build is not gonna be pretty but I'm all about the build it your self style.

You get your intercooler in yet?

Yeah lol I still check in there time to time to see whats new. Seems to have really slowed down there from what it used to be. I used to worship the honda D series, just doesn't make sense to build front wheel drive stuff anymore when the ls platform is basically the same price.

I have started on the intercooler install, just haven't had much time to get it done. It's going to work perfectly though.

I'm there with you on the honda stuff. Built lots of them. But like said for the same price you can have double the power and actually be able to get some of it to the pavement. Yeah it's slowed a whole lot. Most everyone there has grown up and left the whole car scene. Or they have moved there builds to facebook. What ever, there is still quite a lot of out of the box thinking that's happened there. But anyways, looks like the intercooler fits well. What's the id size of thoes cast pipes on your endtanks? I picked up a cx racing intercooler for a build and it had 3" out but the castings were so thick the I'd was 2 3/8". So I cut them off and welded some 3" charge pipes on instead of the cast end tanks.

Lol, i know dustin. He should post this build on rhmt too. Yes, I'm interested on power loss/gains from the intercooler. That being said I bet it can take a bunch more timing now.

Thanks for the compliment, can't go wrong with the gt45 but would also love to see what the 600 dollar s475 could get done on my car.

Got the intercooler pretty much done this weekend, trying to get back on the dyno next weekend, or at least get some street pulls done.
