I've been in the street racing scene a long time. Back when you were farting around in your prelude I was lining up wheel to wheel with some f bodies.

my train of thought in my questions was that the entrance into the diffuser matters as much as the exit.
the wing will also help the diffuser work better/more efficiently.

use every bit of that you can, itll be to your benefit. hell, set up the downpipe(s) to create your own poor mans blown diffuser. that would be pretty badass.

Is blocking off the entire front section wise from an engine cooling perspective ?
Aero can be a tricky subject. Doing lots of stuff with only theory behind it and no real world testing, can work...or it can not.
I'd hate to risk upsetting the balance of a car making one end go light at speed. OEM aerodynamics can be improved on, but making huge changes always concerns me
Ive even seen a Nissan GTR spin on track at circa 180mph for no real reason during a 1km event
His trunk lid flew off...whether that was a cause or effect...dont know. Or why the hell it came off in the first place. Either way he was very lucky not to hit anything or roll over.
What sort of speeds are you hoping to hit ?

I can see Stevieturbo's point. From what I've heard in the past on other vehicles, a rear diffuser like the one you have only works if the whole car has a flat underbody panel to direct the air. When there are sharp corners and items in the way such as exhaust, the rear diffuser becomes useless. Don't quote this, just saying it is what I've heard.

The parts we built are essentially proven. blocking their front grill is no different than the factory bumper, as Camaros breath from the bottom. we only extended the air damn about an inch lower than the stock plastic piece. So the engine bay will actually be getting more air than the stock shroud provides. Side skirts are about as basic as it gets for an arrow package component. The rear stabilizer wing is found on just about any drag car capable of trap speeds over 160. And if nothing else, the rear diffuser blocks off the rear area of the bumper that created tremendous drag. It also looks bad ***. I estimate speeds around 175 to 185mph.

Really cool man, I heard about this - a couple of our guys were wanting to make the last event but I don't think it panned out. Really curious to see how well the car performs! Best of luck

Nice build. I like seeing "different" ideas aside from the 1/4 mile run. BTW, as someone who ran his Camaro at 174mph on the German autobahn (and started to lift the front end in the process) , I can appreciate your attention to aero details. I created aluminum sheeting to smooth out the entire underside on the front of my Z after that "eye-opening" (and nearly pants-filling) experience

I wish I was going... I was at the last event. I was hitting around 190mph in the 1/2mi. Trust me though. the track is so insanely dirty that the first 1/4 mile you will be spinning the whole time lol
