lol

the point being, a hood not dissimilar to the corvette world challenge hood would keep the front from lifting for the most part

My hood has a massive open cowl at the back. It won't be as efficient as the vette extractor hood you're describing, but I'm not worried about my front end lifting, or air issues under the hood at all. I'm worried about traction.

190 at the 1/2 sounds very high for a 202mph mile ?

Aerodynamics is a huge killer for my car...ie it has none, nowhere near as efficient as a Camaro though.
At 1/2mile distance I was only 172mph, and that last stretch to 200+ takes mine forever ( relatively speaking )

1/4 mile was approx 12.7 at 142mph, 0 - 1/2 mile was approx 18.1 @ 172mph with very limited traction at any time. On an earlier run, had a huge sideways incident at 190mph traction was so bad.
Full mile took about 27.8 seconds and 202mph.
All times above taken from GPS logs.

Acceleration vs time with mine is almost a straight line 1-4 gears, then 5th is very gradual.

Just a little note, the cowl area where open cowl hoods are open to the air stream is usually a high pressure area, hence "cowl induction." If you want to get air out of your engine bay, you need to put the vents at an area where the air stream is high velocity and therefore low pressure, which is toward the front of the hood.

It's all a little counter-intuitive, but it relates to the bernouli and venturi effects. I guess this is why Adrian Newey is worth so many millions of $ per year, he actually understands this stuff! Lol Even the other aerodynamics geniuses in the F1 world pale in comparison to his understanding of it all.

Is that hood a Harwood Wide Cowl or a similar version by a different company? How was the fit & finish?

It's the hardwood 3" cowl from summit. Fit blows.

down force produced on the front can affect the back. do it right and you can create a nice balance between the 2.

most of the points you had where air could get in are already blocked off. the other guy i responded to however..lol.

I won all my races yesterday including the finals overall, and fastest mph of the day at 198.9. I heard the track is more like .42, or .45 mile .

Was on what felt like a 200mph pass this morning and the billet input shaft broke in my Rossler glide on the 1-2 shift. Bummer.

Super fun event. Pics and videos soon.

Good meeting you and your crew out there!
Bummer about the breakage.... your car was hauling the mail for sure!

Mike (LS9 turbo FD RX-7) beat that Ford GT in the finals also to win the domestic class with a 188mph vs. his 192.5mph on 275/35/18 Nitto NT-01 tire front/rear (4 years old).

Next event I would love to see you two line up against each other
He is adding a few more tricks up his sleeve before then.....

I ended up going 164.3mph n/a which I was pretty happy about.
Next time maybe see what a 150hp shot will do.

Nice meeting you guys too. I think my car had a 202 in it. Wish I coulda finished that pass this morning....it was doing work on the front half!!! We'll likely be doing more of these events. It was super fun!

yeah my 202 mph pass was on a old turbo with a damaged compressor wheel, too small of an intercooler, and about 3:1 backpressure lol.

I have a much better turbo, intercooler, and BP ratio. When we tried to dyno, it would just spin the tires with all the straps we had holding the car down. Its much faster than it used to be. Im shooting for 220-230 mph this year in a mile

Dusty as hell. Can't expect anything different from an airstrip surrounded by dirt and high winds lol. They had "street sweepers" running Saturday morning before the event but they didn't even help.

Your car was moving. I wish we could have more ls cars at the event. Next time you will be over 200mph. This is my last race of the day with the 1180whp Ford GT TT.
