Default Fun spin around the neighborhood with a quick blast in second.

I was out playing with the GoPro today and decided to roll into second gear and you can hear it just blow the tires off. It was a hit at around 3000rpm. As soon as they started to spin, I short shifted into third, which on the video, there's little to no tire smoke, so maybe once I get the tires heated they'll hook better.

Hopefully when I go back down to the 3.42s, I'll have some more traction.

The tire spin is as I leave the neighborhood and make a right, I short shift first, cruise in second till I get over the hill, that hit it at 3000-3500rpm and the tires just spun, and I grabbed third. You can hear the rpms shoot up.

I'm confused.. what's hard about blowing off tires with no sidewall in a car with no weight transfer in 2nd gear?

video isnt working for some reason ?

Says an error, please try later.

And why would anyone say you cant be spinning in 2nd ? I cant get any decent traction until 4th on the street, and even that's on the edge.

edit, working now. Really not much wheelspin at all there, although you just let off ?

Guys, it's a joke. I'm making somewhere around 700rwhp and I know I can't hook 2nd gear on the street, which isn't any big deal or bragging rights or anything like that.

I just got my wheels back from powder coating, and got the GoPro a few weeks ago, so I was just out playing. I've had the discussion before about now being able to hook second gear at all and some people didn't believe me. So it is what it is. A fun ride around the neighborhood on a beautiful spring day.

I was hoping you weren't serious. With making a lot less hp then you, I can short shift spinning 2nd and keep it going through 3rd. They start doing cars and coffee again yet?

What has scared me is when I hit it in third at like 3500rpm, and it hooks, then around 5500rpm the tires break loose. That's what is unnerving to me.

Yeah, the cars and coffee started back up. 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at 8-10.

I like the sound of that exhaust. What system is that? I'm assuming you're still breaking-in that motor?

Yeah, that's what scares me is in 3rd gear, I hook till about 5500-5800 then they break loose which is about 80-90mph. Maybe I'll take a video of that.

QTP longtubes, Kooks Offroad Ypipe, I then have a resonator in the intermediate pipe, I forget who's it is, but it's in the 'how to get rid of drone' thread. Then into a magnaflow catback.

Motor is broken in. I have about 1200 miles on the motor. I'm debating going to a 3.4" pulley that I have over the 4.00" one I'm currently running. I just need to make sure my fuel system is up to the task.

True. I'm currently at 15psi at 6900rpm, so I need to step up to a 3-bar map sensor, and then go with 80lb injectors over the 60lb'ers I'm currently running. I'm just wondering if my stock fuel like will support it, and I probably need to run a boost referenced regulator as well.

For now, I'm just going to have fun this spring and summer driving the hell out of it.

I feel you on that. I took my stock lines off a few weekends ago, and they looked a little worse for wear. The swap was simple though. You might as well get 100's just because it wont be that much more money. Lonnie uses fuel lab regs.

If you max out your pumps let me know. I'm kicking myself for not doing the duals to begin with.

Yeah I did a racetronix my first time and I regretted it. Dropped the tank twice now. Getting really fast at it. Took off 3-4 lbs of heat shielding. I figure if you can touch the exhaust at the back and its warm, then it can be no worse than the pavement being 100+.

I don't think I'm going to max out my pumps with a D1 as Lonnie said dual 255s are good to about 800 or so rwhp. If I max them out, then I'll **** myself for making that much power. Right now I am just not optimized fuel wise to run more boost. With the factory regulator, I essentially lose 15 or more psi of pressure due to the boost, so you compensate by increasing the injector duty cycle to ensure adequate fueling. Well, I'm around 90% injector duty cycle right now with my 60's. So before I go with more boost, I need to either step up to 80s or put in a boost referenced regulator and see where that takes me.
