Default Can corvette filter/reg be used as filter only?

Hey I searched but couldn't find an answer. Can I cap the return line on y corvette filter reg and use it as a filter only? I have a turbocharged swap setup in my 86 camaro and ran out of money and the inline filters are pretty price, like 60 and up not including fittings. Plus I already have a vette fter reg laying around, but not sure exactly how it works.

Maybe someone here has taken one apart, if the return line is plugged will it cause the outlet fuel pressure to increase above stock psi? I already have an aeromotive boost ref fpr.

Thanks!

In case anybody finds this and needs to know, the vette reg filter will flow way higher than 60psi if you cap off the return. I cranked on my regator up over 80 psi with it. Hard part is plugging the return. I will be crushing it in the vice and welding it shut.

This is all temporary, like I said earlier I'm out of money for this project and this filter has only 100 miles of use on it and just layin around.

" welding it shut."
A used filter. How do you propose to get the residual fuel out of it?

Lol throw it in a bucket of water then blow it out with compressed air? Same thing people do to gas drums and used gas tanks before cutting and welding on them.

This thread is just priceless. A new filter is $30. I would never weld on a used fuel filter, just plain stupid.

Lol yall are some real helpful people. Why would I spend $40 on somethint just to throw it away in a month? Yall are the ones making this thread priceless this isn't a nuclear bomb here Haha I already did this last night, filled with water and welded shut just fine, didn't blow up suprise suprise. blew the water out with compressed air and done. Like I said this is temporary I will be replacing it soon with pushloc hose and a canister filter but I've gone broke on this project and just want to run it already.

Haters ganna hate I guess.

If you can't afford a filter then you don't need to have a turbo car.

the corvette filter without the bypass is $16.XX. like stated if you can afford to buy that you don't need to be building a turbo setup.

I would have bought a $15 filter if someone would have suggested it. I searched but did not find much besidse low pressure carb stuff or filters that require ordering metric fittings.

Anyways, car is almost done and I wanted to save this $40 filter from the scrap pile by reusing it. It's on, and it works fine so guess you can go tell someone else what they shouldn't be doing.

More power to ya. . . You asked for opinions so thats what you got. Next time don't ask and you won't receive. If you have any decent power you will melt the motor down because the filter you are using will restrict you on how much fuel you can put to it. But hey, you know everything so have at it. Good luck.
